a quick peek into this cool book my wife found in a second hand shop of one of my favorite potters / ceramic artists in japan named Kato Tokuro

his shino, murasaki shino, oribe, ki seto and kuro oribe and more.

his skills ranged from small sake cups (shuki, guinomi) up to huge, gigantic sculptures. 10-20 meters long.

working on some futaoki or lid rests in this cool black clay. amazing stuff, black porcelain. thrown, altered and then carved.

a very nice , shibui yunomi. the iridescent red will make some nice chawan in the future. very light and balanced. won't tip over. haha !

these double walled vessels, thrown as one piece, insulate and protect your fingers.
