wow... I can't believe it. The last time I won anything, it was in a "Thundercats" drawing contest when I was 9, and this is a
way cooler prize than that Mum-Ra action figure...
Seriously, though--this was already my favorite SO to date and I couldn't be more excited about this sake set. Thanks, Michael!!!
I will post photos as soon as the set arrives!

The sake set arrived yesterday, and the photos don't do it justice. It's incredible. These look and feel amazing in the hand.
I will be posting some photos of my own over the weekend.
Thanks again, Michael!

The texture and patterning of the exposed clay on the bottom is pretty incredible.

The glaze itself is really deep and faceted and changes depending on the light it's viewed in. It reminds me a lot of the iris of the eye...

Awesome! The glaze is remarkably similar to SeaCuke as well. Makes me wonder if they are akin.

Many thanks to ShyRabbit for making this SO a reality.

Quite stunning, I find it hard to believe they didn't sell out. Too bad that I missed this SO but I just bought one of the remaining chawans on etsy.

Just rectified a suprisingly distressing mistake: I thought I might better balance the teawares at home and work and give the "Shadows" cup with stand better display options if I brought it to work, rather than leaving the stand in the back of the cupboard at home while the cup came out quite often.
Just two days later I started working with a new puerh from Essence of Tea, and realized immediately that I needed the Shadows cup. I have others that are quite lovely, but none with exactly that same balance of size and shape for the flash infusions of a really aggressive young sheng puerh. So today, it the cup returned home, the sheng was brought back out of the fridge, and that subtle wrongness is corrected.
Whew.
