Zencha offers the same thing they just call it ko-cha so I don't know if what they sell is the bi-product of gyo or sencha....nor do they offer any brewing instructions.....being quite tea adventurous I wouldn't mind trying it especially since they offer free shipping :D

Yeah, I would say that is a derivative spelling of Konacha. Judging by the color, I doubt it contains gyokuro components.

Konocha pairs with food due to its rather intense flavor. The Japanese are wise, they would not serve good quality sencha with savory meal, the sencha's flavor would get lost.

Hello,

Hibiki Kuradashi Gyokuro will be available October 3, and I was wondering if someone can advise me if they have tried it in the past and their opinion of it. Also, they have a super premium and pinnacle which one should I try? I have tried several regular gyokuro from Maiko Yamashita and O-Cha's how is it different from regular gyokuro? Thanks

I would advise the super premium for a first try and to drink it at a minimum of 7g for 100 ml.
Which are the "regular" ocha gyokuro you usually drink?

I have only tried the Tsurujirushi thus far, 2 grams per 1 oz at 130F, and I bought a sample pack for Maiko where I have tried the Yashiki no cha and the Takumi. I do have a Kuradashi called a Nomigoro in that package from Maiko as well that I will trying shortly. I really like all the gyokuro's that I have tried thus far, but I am new to the tea world and really want to read other more experienced opinions.

I enjoyed it enough last year to make a point of ordering it again this year.
