Trip plan:

First here is the overall map of the trip (Google Map). Because of the Festival going on the next day, I adopted wyardley's travel map.

10:00am - Meet at Tea Habitat (Google Map). We can make small adjustments to the schedule and give some time for traffic if needed.

10:30am to around 1:00pm - Have a nice time drinking tea and talking about tea (sounding tea nerdy already).

Around 1:00pm - Grab some food or snacks and make the way up to the next stop

2:30pm - Make a stop at Lupicia. Purchase teas, sample if there is time then move on.

3:40pm - Stop at Hankook. Have some more tea, oogle teaware and general chit chat.

4:45pm - Wing Hop Fung / Ten Ren. Last stop together for a final Tea Time.

After this we can split up and go where we like in smaller groups or together if someone comes up with something interesting. One possible place suggested is:

It's maybe a 20-30 min stop, but worth it. And there is a Beard Papa cream puff dispensary in the building. If you have never had one, they are really fabulous!
If you have any suggestions or complaints, the next couple days is the final time to do so. Either by post or PM. Once this is finalized I will send out a PMs with addresses, my cell number and other technical goodies. If someone would like to step up and be the back up contact, I would be glad. Especially anyone who knows LA in case someone goes astray.

It would be a great idea to contact these places ahead of time to let them know that a group of 7+ tea aficionados are stopping by. Then they'll be able to make sure they can accommodate, and perhaps even provide special accommodations.

Imen knows we're coming; I don't think WHF or any of the Ten Rens will care (or understand what you're saying, if you're speaking English). WHF is huge, and not really geared so much to trying tea in large groups or serving tea, though the store staff will brew tea for you if you ask. There's a lot of teaware, wine, housewares, etc. to check out, so people can try tea in batches or something. I heard that the SGV Ten Ren may have some sort of actual tea brewing going on in the evening (beyond what you can get at Tea Station, which is connected, but mostly sells boba tea and such). Lupicia only holds about 7 people total. :>

Might make sense for someone to call Hankook, though. I have been meaning to make it over there, but haven't yet.

I may or may not stick around for the whole day.

Of course you can count on me to be the backup contact!
It was you and me that started it all!
:)

Also I can call Hankook, I have a contact there.

I've been reconsidering my attendance as of late. That much driving is quite insane.

You know what? It is a ways - but from my exerience with meets from my other board - when you start reading about all the fun we had, and what all happened,
you will regret not coming.

Just sayin'

Maybe meet us partway through?

Also, it would probably be possible to work out carpooling for at least some of the day if it makes a difference to anyone. For example, folks could probably meet up with me, Jason, and Roy (who's also coming along to help brew) on the West side, and ride down to RPV from there; we all live pretty near Lupicia. Also, I'm guessing it would be possible to get a ride back there from the SGV even if all of us don't go along.

Yes Pentox, if you want just meet us at lupicia later if that is easier for you. We can see about other arrangements if needed.

So Victoria will be the second point of contact for this. I will send out a PM tonight about phone numbers and whatnot.

I was actually s'posed to be asleep about 3 hours or so ago. So I will go konk out and post more stuff tonight.

And remember, this is for FUN. Don't stress yourselves on the travel and such. We can make arrangements for different people if needed.

Part of the dilemma is that the order of places to go are pretty much in decreasing order of which I would prefer to go to. I was most interested in checking out Tea Habitat, then lesser interested in picking some stuff up from Lupicia, and further down the line.

WHF is absolutely worth a visit.

BTW, we can save time (and aggravation in splitting a bill) by eating at the mall food court where lupicia is.
