Some news regarding Jing Tea UK (http://www.jingtea.com). In response to me Tweeting them regarding their possible shincha offerings, they replied...
JINGTea@Jdm1987 yes, we'll have two new senchas, one from wazuka, kyoto prefecture and one from uji, kyoto prefecture, also a new gyokuro
I will definitely be getting some of this when it becomes available, the Long Jing and Yunnan Gold I had off them last year were just fantastic!

Also, if you haven't already you should also check out their album on Flickr, some really beautiful photos! http://www.flickr.com/photos/33274525@N05/?saved=1

Anyone else have this pot?
I have that pot and it works excellent for me (mostly fukas and gyo). Hatsumi is a great choice.
I have that pot as well. I absolutely love it. I dropped it onto my hardwood floor and only a little piece on the inside rim chipped off. Sturdy little thing and very cute. Only thing is the site says its 11oz but I measure it to be only 9oz to the rim. My infusions usually come out to be 8oz when I fill it up.

I finally caved and preordered some O-Cha shincha. I got the YM (of course), Fukamushi, and Hatsumi. Now I just have to stretch the last bits of my sencha till May.

Just ordered the Yutaka Midori and Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha. My first ever shincha order...this is oddly exciting.

Great picks Danibob and Pasttimes! I will likely order all of them. I am quite interested in the Hatsumi this harvest since it was a controversial year for it last year.

I am where I was, no progress, and no urgency I guess. I understand the excitement and share it with everyone! But having been through it pretty many times, I am not so concerned with preorders as much, unless there is a cost benefit.
blah blah blah SENCHA blah blah blah!!!

usually in the LA Area Japanese markets, tea companies do Shincha demonstrations... So I'll wait till I get a trial sip before making the purchase!

Yes I recieved the newsletter from maiko, and they sell a shuppin shincha gyokuro, and one middle grade shincha gyokuro and lots of other shincha items, those of you old school shincha drinkers marukyu koyamaen offered last year shincha matcha gin, and a shincha gyokuro under the name of shincha KIN, and last year I tried shincha gyokuro, and I liked it, it was lively almost like fresh honey.

Sugimoto's Temomi Shincha

by e d o » Apr 14th, '09, 17:41

Is Sugimoto's Temomi Shincha really worth the asking price ($15 for 10gm + $8.50 shipping)? It's so much more expensive than all the other offerings and tomorrow is the last day to preorder.

I would say yes. (I ordered a few packs) Temomi is more about Temomi than being shincha. It has an appearance and flavor unlike any other sencha. It's unique in it's own right, and unlike any other sencha experience I have ever had.

I just added Hachiju Hachiya from Sugimoto to my pre-orders. That gives me three varieties so far... and counting...

I'm a little afraid of what my credit card bill is going to look like when these are shipped.

Zencha, Takumi and one other to be determined. I like to focus on their Yame Shincha since it is pretty rare ... or at least unusual.
...
whats the biggest difference in the Yame's? ive never tried anything from there so of course I am curious
