Korean matcha?
Wow Adam, can you tell us more about that intensity?
What flavors, aromas?
How is it different?

So far I have only had two Korean green teas, this and a more loose leaf organic one, but both of them have sharp biting taste that gives the impression of toasted grains. It is weired the green teas somehow end up being reminiscent f a genmaicha, but often have more going on.

It differes from Japanese matcha, in the sense that most bitterness in Japanese matcha hints at a dark chocolate kind of profile or it is just completely bad bitterness. This the bitterness was not bad,but did not make me think of dark chocolate.

I can work on it. I took some shots but this old digital P&S is not going to capture how amazing they are. I did post the golden one in the TC TA SO "In Praise of Shadows" topic where some of his works are still currently available, 3 of which I really am really quite attracted to ... T01, T07, T10.

We had a nice cool morning today - a change from the warm humid days of the past few weeks. Took advantage of this and had my first cup of matcha in my ShyRabbit chawan on the porch.

I would like to introduce you to my little Chawan family. The one on the right is a Cory Lum, the one on the left is a Chris Chaney, and the second from the left is a Bill Perrine. The one next to Bill's is a Japanese Chawan from the 1970's. I just couldn't resist the bird's on it. They remind me of the birds you can see on the lanterns in Kyoto. Well, at least from the photos I've seen. I've not yet been there. I also love the script on it.

Mine is a small family, but a well loved one.
