Sipping Wu Ling Oolong Tea from teafromtaiwan. I'm not getting the fruity quality they write in the description, but it is a very flavorful, pleasant oolong. This is just the first infusion though...

I paid about $15 for that pot new at Wing Hop Fung, so I doubt that it has much value. It is remarkably thin walled and does have lines/markings consistent with turning on the inside of the pot and the lid, but the outside is unnaturally shiny and it was coated with wax when I bought it--not sure that's entirely gone despite several boil n' soaks.

Drinking Tie Luo Han from Jing UK

Brewing it strong and enjoying it alongside a 12 year old Glenlivet single malt.

The shine may be just a burnishing that will not come off no matter how many times you boil it. I also have a shiny one that is not waxed but polished. Pretty common.

It was clearly waxed or something like at first-- scraping it with a fingernail left marks.

Very nice looking for a "cheap" pot.

Finished up the 4th grade TGY from OTTI 6 today. Higher leaf to water ratio and it was delicious! :)

A 2001 Aged oolong, supposedly an aged TGY, but honestly its a bit unimpressive, which is why it has be designated to office duty.

Finishing up a some Huang Jin Gui 'Golden Turtle' from Norbu, a tea whose packet has been opened for a while and is starting to lose the brightness of the high notes a bit.

I'm trying very very hard not to open the packages of my Alishan oolong that I've reserved for a comparative tasting--they're all vacuum sealed and should be just fine waiting a bit longer--because they're 50g apiece and I've got four of them (summer 2009, winter 2009, and two different roasts from spring 2010), so it will be a bit of work to drink them all up before they too start to lose their shine.

It's just so hard to wait.

Definitely no turtles swimming in my tea!

This is Norbu's page for that tea.

``Emperors Puzzle'' shui xian from Red Circle. Medium roasted, and rich but firm. Very satisfying.
