I love this shape. It is quickly becoming my favorite. I would love a tiny pot like that that shape. My guy here has a master piece of high quality zinni in this shape for $800. Not there yet, but someday I will be.

60ml is a great size for yancha in my opinion. Do the leaves fit in that opening?

i have no problem fitting yancha leaves into this pot. it is great for intense gongfu, I pack it with 5 grams of leaf for 60 ml of water I get MANNY steeps out of it.
Re: Official/Different Yixing Show Off Topic!
Can anyone give me any information on this pot? Also, it has a funny tobacco-like smell inside. Would that be from tea?
Thanks!
Thanks!

More info: it stands 3.5 inches tall (not including the knob on the lid), holds about 8 or so ounces (didn't measure yet, but I'd say that;s a close guess). Bummer it has a chip in the rim, hopefully the lid will still seal tight when in use.

Yeap, I also have that smell in my porous pots.night.owl wrote:Also, it has a funny tobacco-like smell inside. Would that be from tea?
No idea about the pot, sorry.

Factory-1, perhaps 7~80's stuff. Clay is CR Qing Shui Nidebunix wrote:I don't think this recent discovery is in the same class with the lovely pot featured in the last few posts, but it's slowly growing on me.
I found it among my father's belongings while cleaning out the clutter in his study. He's the one who first encouraged me to drink tea, and he learned his tea lore mostly from his calligraphy friends. I have no idea where this set came from, and my mother doesn't remember how or when he got it. His work took him to once or twice to Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong, but I think I saw most of his treasures from those trips on his return. A lot of his collections came from antique stores, thrift shops, and eBay, and so this could have come from any of those sources, or have been a gift.
The teawares are quite thin pottery,
(curves on the outside are visible on the inside too)
and the teapot is so large (600mL!) that I don't know how or when I'd ever use it. At 125 mL the teacups are more reasonably sized, and like the pot, have different designs on both sides (sea dragon/air dragon?)
But the dragon theme is pretty cool.
The bottom of the teapot just has the same spiraling curves as on the sides:
and this little mark on the inside of the lid is the only identifying mark on the whole set:
I'm guessing it was more made for a showy gift than for tea-making quality, and it's likely to stay mostly on the shelf, given the absurd size of the pot.
I don't think the plate was really intended to go with the set--it's a very different style with the bamboo vs the dragon of the teawares. And again, no identifying marks.

Funny thing is its stamp is in intaglio, not embossed. I'm guessing it to be Factory-2~5the_economist wrote:yet another neiziwaihong pot, about 90ml (3-4cups). nice pour, flat filter, weird stamp on its bottom (the 中 isn't quite right), and 瑞 (rui) inside the lid.
this thing is probably going to shupu.
Re: Official/Different Yixing Show Off Topic!
Good afternoon
Anyone knows how to make the ropes for protect the lid from falling.
Thanks.
