beauty! I love this craquelure glaze - it has to nice change in time (with tea). That is interesting to watch how our way of thinking even if we work in different way (mayby becouse of the same inspirations) are crossing from time to time.

I like to think about potters as a community of individuals working together, even thousands miles away. Everyone sitting in his/her studio, holding chunk of clay and thinking "hey, so what is next?"

Petr, what is the glaze on this mesmerizing piece?

Hi Debunix, This pieces is quite special (at least to me:)) It is glazed in one of our variation on Steven Hill's glazes http://www.stevenhillpottery.com/Steven ... /Home.html Several kilns back, Mirka try to put bonsai pot glazed in that glaze in our charcoal part of the kiln (where all pieces are covered with charcoal during the top temperature. Results were great so now it was my turn and I put couple of pieces there too. I love this pieces but it is really hard to take good/real looking shot of it. It has metallic feeling on one side and warm forest on other...

It is unglazed inside

I have to disagree about hard to take a good shot of it--it's so interesting--another new/old, ancient right out of the kiln piece--that it seems hard to take a bad shot of it!

The treebark pot is just enchanting. The tiny little pot splitting open to reveal it's core colors is something else entirely. Wow.

The treebark pot with the glaze reminds me of photos I've seen of ancient bronze statuary that has pulled from the bottom of the sea; it has the same blue-green verdigris color ....

Some of Petr's newer pieces are up on Darjeeling.cz today; there are some wonderful barky pieces. I lingered long on a few pieces and escaped mostly unscathed.....though a cha hai found its way into my cart.

I'd like to express that as I consider your work I feel more than a mere appreciation of your pieces, their craft, diversity, beauty, etc. What I feel more than anything is a true and deep sense of gratitude, gratitude for your creative process/work and the way it has enhanced my own life and the lives of others, my own moments of sitting to pour tea with your pieces, and the constant depth/inspiration your work brings to my personal tea path/exploration.

Mirka's kusamonos are stunning. After a recent rip into the coastal Redwood forests, their tones and shapes remind me of carved Redwood burl and have a rich, wavelike fluidity to their shapes. Very nice!

Mirka always refers to her week trip through Redwood forest as one of the highlights of her few years stay in US, the inspiration is quite real:)
