Supreme Liu An Gua Pian From DTH. Lots of flavor and good durabilty. Will have to re-order.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
The last of my Jukro Oojeon brewed grandpa style. I am having a fantastic time with this tea and so sad that it is gone.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Tai Ping Hou Kui from Jing. This evening I brewed it in my thin hand blown glass gaiwan and there is a sweetness that was missing when I brewed it in porcelain. I suppose this is part of the mystery of tea that makes brewing it more an art than a science.

Thats interesting....I find sencha sweeter when brewed in glass vs tokoname. There must be something to brewing green tea in glass...JRS22 wrote:Tai Ping Hou Kui from Jing. Hmmmmm............can this be the way I justify purchasing the glass teapot that Den's is offering?entropyembrace wrote:Thats interesting....I find sencha sweeter when brewed in glass vs tokoname. Recently opened bag of Fujitsubo gyokuro from the O-C.
Getting really low on Miyabi and 7132 Organic ... the last sencha-s in the house.

Kagoshima sencha Kirishima no Kaori from Yuuki. A highly aromatic light steamed selection, with a pronounced grassiness and tropical fruit notes. Very nice.

I think I like the Kame at similar price (I think) a bit more, but it is quite good. This is 2010 harvest yet.entropyembrace wrote:How´s the Fujitsubo? I have a bag too but its not open yetChip wrote:Recently opened bag of Fujitsubo gyokuro from the O-C.

Have some Kame in the TeaFridge as well.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
I just had my first bowl of Chiyo Mukashi Matcha from Maiko. It is quite outstanding. It is the highest grade of Matcha I've tried and it definitely impresses me. It is incredibly sweet and whisks up with a thick layer of foam. I would definitely suggest it. I'll have to try it as Koicha later on.

Drinking the last bit of the O-Cha Tsuen "Aoi" sencha, delicious and tasty brewed as a cold tea. Yum.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
This past week it's been:
-Den's Tea Genmaicha Extra Green from $3 sampler (which was a great pickup)
-Yame Shincha from Yuuki-Cha
-Hojicha roasted at home in cast iron skillet

A kabusecha. I'm still figuring out what parameters to use, but regardless of that I like it.

In the virtual absence of sencha, taking the opp to go through greens that always manage to take a back seat to sencha.
Personal fave 5 Chinese greens contenders to start. Zhu Ye Qing and Long Jing.
Brewed in tall glass with hot water, the Zhu Ye Qing remains the top "dancer" I have seen to date.
These are very nice indeed ... but they lack the punch needed to create cravings like sencha.
