Ten Fu TGY '1000'. A surprisingly delicious green TGY with some of the most intense and long lasting aroma and taste I've had in a long time. This is the biggest TGY producer in China. I would never have thought such a commercial outfit would make such delicious tea.

2/3 flt 4seasons + 1/3 unknown hmt
roughly 5-6grams in 260ml porc, brewed 6 mins in porc that loses heat pretty fast
Very tasty, I like
the hmt added a touch of creaminess and some more body while still retaining 4seasons very floral character, goes down easy

2010 Dong Ding Hong Shui from Houde -
Dry leaves smell amazing. Initial brews some slightly oxidized...almost roasted flavors with plentiful fruit. Third brew on cassia/cinnamon flavors show up with slight florals. This actually reminds me of Dayuling. Medium bodied through the infusions. Some vegetal notes sneak in around the sixth brew. I'm currently on the 9th brew and it can go a few more with no problem.
Overall a very nice oolong with good complexity especially for the price.

009 winter wood-roasted shui xian by Hou De Asian Art & Fine Teas
Very nice session with this tea today, and shared some of the middle infusions—a little mellower than the first—with some of my tea-loving colleagues at work. I’m not sure the more aggressive early infusions are what I should be sharing with those mostly drinking jasmine and flavored blends…..but I love the spicy deep roasted flavor. Given how light and green the leaves are—I always am momentarily surprised by the deep wuyi/dan cong flavor profile of this one.

Back on my gifted DHP tonite..and I hear another care package is coming from China with something different! Woot. I was told I would be Pleased..
Re: What Oolong are You Drinking Right Now?
I would recommend it. Its basically a sweeter more roasted hong shui, doesn't have the older aged oolong taste.puerhking wrote:I have not tried the aged Hong Shui...but I was checking it out.

Damn. They finally figured out how to put MSG into the tea's DNA.Tead Off wrote:Ten Fu TGY '1000'. Ten Fu is the Same as Ten Ren I believe? I'll have to pick some up for giggles next time I'm there.

I understand that they own Ten Ren. This is the largest TGY producer in China. I was quite shocked to taste such a delicious tea. They have a grading system which I don't understand. This tea comes in 10/11g vacuum packed packets. It was a gift to me. It is not their ordinary TGY. It's on the expensive side in China.tingjunkie wrote:Damn.
