These arrived while I was gone for a long weekend, and I am breaking them in now! I must say as of right now I rather like Korean Greens! This is a Geum San tea set for 3 from Hankook Teas.






please excuse the poor lighting, the sun was already mostly set by the time I got home and had a chance to open the box, if I can get pictures that show this piece off a lot better they may be posted at a later date.

That was my biggest reservation about pulling the trigger, as of my love of hagi, I wanted one that would hopefully develop staining in cracks, so I went with the only set that had a picture that gave the slightest hint of crackling on the ware. Needless to say my pictures show there is really quite abundant crackling.

Wow, very nice! I was looking at that one too when I bought my Woonsan set. I decided to match with the matcha set I already had. But I remember looking at the close-up of that set and seeing the crackling.

Is it more cream than white?

The one Korean crackle travel set from Hankook does stain in the crackles pretty quickly.

Is it more cream than white?

Not entirely sure how to answer that, in bright sulight it looks white, like pristine white, but if the light is slightly dirty or indirect a slightly yellow tinge comes out. I would say its whiter than the Kyusu's you were selling that were a cream, but it is not near a very perfect white.

Thanks Adam! I see what you mean, one looks white and one cream in the last pic. Regardless, it's a nice set. I'm wondering if mine will crackle at all. I guess I need to use it more and find out!

I'm painfully ignorant about Korean Teaware, although quite interested. I recently was in Seoul and bought a few items I just simply couldn't live without. I don't know much about them, other than the names of their makers, but wanted to show off. Any information anybody can give me would be incredibly appreciated!

The first one is a teacup with an incredible glaze. My photos can't do it justice. It is smooth and milky, just gorgeous. It's not quite so blue as it looks in the photo. It was made by Sung Suk Jeen

This is a blue celadon alcohol cup. It is the same size as the gongfu cups we use here, so I intend on using it as a teacup. Again, just an awesome glaze! It was made by Jang Song Mo. They said he is quite famous, but I hear that all the time here, so I don't know if I believe that. It's still an awesome cup. I bought a set of 3.

Here's another alcohol cup by Jang Song Mo. I liked it's white simplicity. It feels wonderful in the hand.

All of those look like great finds IPT, I think a lot of us are still learning about Korean teaware, as it seems rather hard to get information on nearly anything Korean outside of Korea.

So we have to go by what the few English vendors have on their websites or say.
