I would assume high prices are here to stay, and will continue to rise... For good tea at least. Though it is nice to cross your fingers and dream...bonescwa wrote:But here's hoping that this bubble crashes! I am actively discouraging people to get into tea, I am doing my small part for the cause

$150 for a nice quality cake from the 90's is pretty cheap actually!Balthazar wrote:A tong of, say, the 1990’s Hong Kong Style no-wrapper tea will take you over the $1000 limit, and as we all know $150 a cake is far from unheard of these days... A lot of people seem to agree that you need to pay that sort of money (or close to it) for a decent cake these days, and that whenever you come across something you really like you ought to buy tongs of it... So while I've never made an order that large (and probably never will) myself, there's really nothing insane about it. It comes across as a huge sum, but I'm willing to bet several people on here spend something close to that every 6 months - 1 year, just spread over several orders
And I'm sure there's plenty of people on here who go well over the $1000 mark every 1 to 2 months

Re: White 2 Tea Co. - Fine Puer Teas
The White2tea Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale is on! We also have several new black teas on offer. Enjoy the festivities

Also a cake that can knock out the $1000 level in one swift blow. How many shall I put you down for, Sherubtse?
I know you will think this is crazy, but so goes the prices for famous dry aged sheng ... we also have many options under $20

Heck, put me down for a couple of tongs, TwoDog! I can dish them out as Chistmas presents.TwoDog2 wrote:Also a cake that can knock out the $1000 level in one swift blow. Re:
Thank you for your concern - but don't worry too much. This kind of tea is not really considered high end in the Chinese market. If someone was to go to the trouble of stealing Puer tea, they could certainly pick a more expensive tea to target! Maybe some 1950's cakes are worthy of a heist movie. Starring Nicolas Cage.Peacock wrote:How many tongs do you possess? Perhaps a better question, how many armed security guards do you have monitoring you. I care deeply for your safety Twodog.

New Teaware at White2tea!
New sets of handmade glazed cups from artist Liu Heping have arrived.

And plenty of Yixing teapots. (And a ruyao pot thrown in for good measure)

New shu, which looks and sounds quite interesting (in spite of its youth). Maybe TwoDog can provide a bit more info:

And a new set of these handmade Ruyao teacups - five in total. I really would love to use these just to see how the crackling effect will look, but I need to keep my teaware hoarding in check.
