It is safe and is not going to disappear. It is temporarily in Mod Squad and will likely roll back out tonight.
I am not inclined to bring it back in a locked mode. So, if cooler heads prevail, it will likely come back unlocked.

My mod evaluation is that while it did get a little heated, the only line really crossed was in Britt's final volley. As far as I'm concerned, it's a violation of our rule #3 (Posts that attack or harass other members or moderators are not permitted) and thus merits mod action and an official strike. He's a belligerent "I'm right, you're wrong" personality, so I predict that it will be difficult to get him to see how he crossed the line and our own dear Geekgirl did not...but, c'est la vie. If he drags out a debate with us, we can cite another infraction of #3 and really get things moving.
Now, Chip and I still have to talk to Christine and decide on a course of action. I'm sure we'll get some consensus happening by tomorrow. Try not to poke Britt too hard in the interim, though.
