@Salsero: No it is the tea presentation vessel. Don't know where this name originated but some merchants in the German speaking space use this name.

ok i'm fairly new to this game so...is the 'fairness cup' the serving pitcher? if so the glaze isn't really what i would call greenish. the lotus..which i understand to be the presentation vessel hasn't got a glazed bottom like you say..so probably the same one as yours. has a small green signature on the bottom.
Yep, the fairness cup is the serving pitcher. Fair because everyone will get the same concentrated tea from it.

I took some pictures of my set. As said before the pot I use solely for chinese lucha. The pitcher and presentation vessel for every tea. The glace is celadon like, but not really that intense in color and fascinating like some other celadon ware. It's just bright green. ;)

oh i understand the 'fair' bit now. makes sense..thanks for explaining :)

the signature on the bottom of your tea lotus looks the same as on mine..think i've got the same set but just a slight variation of it, as in mines a white glaze with light green signature.

Nice set! I actually own a few pieces myself from this company.

Here's a natsume (tea caddy for thin tea) that I bought a few years ago:

Image

The design is carved into the wood and then lacquered.

I don't know the story behind it, but I've wondered whether it might be from Okinawa (Ryukyu) due to the subject matter. Could be wrong about that, of course.

Either way: summery design!

Thought it was about time for me to post my collection. It's hardly impressive compared to some of yours...but by the same token I'm a poor university student :P

Image
That's a sample of all my pots

Image
A close up of the red/black teapot that my partner and I bought with our first specialty tea. Huge sentimental value of course. The interesting thing about the cups, is that they aren't as big as they appear to be. They're double lined, so no matter how hot the tea is, you won't burn your hand.

Image
As seen here ^

Image
This is easily the mos frequently used in the collection. My day-to-day pot. Adagio Tea Perfection pot. I reccomend it to anyone looking for a simple, effective and good sized pot.

Image
There's a side on view. You can see the metal basket which can be lifted out of the pot when you're comfortable with the steeping level.

Image
A pot bought on eBay impulse. Use it on occaison...usually for japanese greens.

Image
This set was bought in an op-shop (second hand shop) for $2 australian. Not the nicest looking thing in the world, but it's served me well with Russian Caravan during 4am essay finishing sessions. The adorable milk jug didn't come with the set...in fact, it cost slightly more than the set :P

Image
Yixing set described in this thread. Thanks again to everyone's help in helping me decide to use TGY Oolong in it. It's been going beautifully...I can already taste the difference

Image
Cose up of the pot itself. I love the lid on this actually.

Image
And a close up of one of the cups. They're all identical...obviously

Indeed I am Salsero. The weather isn't as nice as you might imagine...it's bitterly windy right now
