I'm not so sure it's worth shipping them back if the seller doesn't cover shipping.
He mentioned that he paid ~$60 total for 3 pots, including shipping, and that he got one of them for ~$11. So let's assume all three pots were 11, that's 33, so 27 for shipping.
Now he has to spend *another* 27 to get back 33...?
So your choices are -$60 and 3 pots that you might be able to use as decoration, and a little bit wiser.
Or -$54 (-60 - 27 + 33), no pots and a little bit wiser.
I suppose there's the "principle of the thing," but... hmmmm. Well, best of luck!

Whoa. Settle down there. You're giving me bad flashbacks of 5th grade math class. Hopefully, if he sends them back on train A traveling at 45 miles per hour...Drax wrote:I'm not so sure it's worth shipping them back if the seller doesn't cover shipping.

Sorry about the long time laps between my reporting in;
I have a full time job that is rather hectic, and like a complete IDIOT I'm also running my own "one man" mobile computer repair business on the side servicing about 300 retired folks whom 1/3 are "clueless". At times, its is a NIGHTMARE!
Ok, for the ones that have been putting up with my "noobe pot-head" endeavors, trials and tribulations, I have some very amusing back and forth emails between this ebay seller and my self. And just to reiterate, from the very start, I knew these things weren't real, however the shoe polish was a bit offensive and didn't realize these NUTS actually sat around and spent their time doing this....FOR A FOOLISH 40 BUCKS profit mind you. And maybe I should have just left it alone and accepted it. But I just had to send him an email at least letting him know that I knew he tricked me. Well in the response email he sent he even tried to continue bull shitting me--and that's what TEA-ED me off and I just couldn't leave that alone. Way to busy to post the emails now but will post a full report this weekend--its really pretty funny...

Re: Used Yixing
Ok, so now how do I go about getting serious about choosing a tea pot that I will use daily? Alot! The tea I like most is the Oolong Pu-erh, both the old raw and the roasted. (don't want to deeper into all the sub categories of that tea--been reading for weeks about this and there is just too much info on this topic--there really is no end to it), just keep it simple; Oolong Pu-erh of any type.
Note: I have a very dear Chinese friend whom has a boss that brought to her some old pu-erh that has been in the family for 40yrs. No other information about it, just that its a very hard, small black brick, and she gave me a piece the size of a deck of playing cards. I am scared to touch it because ones its gone....its gone! I did try some and its amazing--back to the pot.
I don't want to spend months on this, so I have decided on getting something new from ZishaTeapot.co.uk because many times in this forum this vendor has come up and has had positive reviews about their products. And they look real nice too. Does anyone have an idea what I should look for...
Thanks,
Heinz

Re: Used Yixing
i would separate the oolong pot and the puer pot. either that or just use a gaiwan for all oolongs and get one pot for aged-raw puer (it seems u don't do cooked or young-raw so that simplifies matters).
Re: Used Yixing
Couple things... Oolong and Puerh are two very different types of tea. Oolong comes in many different varieties from many different regions, and it can be both roasted and oxidized to all different levels. Oolong can be aged, though most people drink fairly new stuff. Puerh is a completely different tea from Yunnan, can either be raw (sheng) or cooked (shu), and both varieties are generally preferred best when aged.HeinzFrick wrote:Ok, so now how do I go about getting serious about choosing a tea pot that I will use daily? If you do want to be "serious" about choosing a Yixing pot, you really don't want to use the pot for different varieties of tea. Find one tea (light roast Anxi oolong, for example) and dedicate the pot exclusively to that. If you want a switch hitter, you'd be much better off getting a porcelain pot or a gaiwan.
Re: Used Yixing
ZishaTeapot.co.uk is pretty good, I bought two teapots from them which are quite nice. The clay certainly has great quality so does the craftsmanship. I am actually going to purchase another one from them soon.HeinzFrick wrote:

Re: Used Yixing
Everyone's input is great! Thank you all. I have read/seen in several places while looking for tea to buy, that quite a few of the Pu-erh teas were made using oolongs and some using green and so on. What am I getting wrong? If I had a choice on my first teapot I most definitely will go with something suited for cooked pu-erh because it seems the tea is a little cheaper. I was a big coffee drinker, maybe 4 to 7 or more cups per day, and replacing my coffee habit with a tea habit would be most economically done using the tea that's a little cheaper.
I have begun pm ing Chen and she has been very helpful explaining what clay is suited for what tea. She knows clay teapots like I know computers! Its amazing to me how all these teapots have so many differences between them, and how important each feature is and what it's job is when brewing tea.
As per Chen, the color of the clay doesn't matter. This is good, one less factor to consider........smile.
Have to run to work....thanks everyone....
