It looks similar from the photo, I can confirm next week when I get it. Thanks Alex!

Wow that's a beautiful kyusu, even with the repairs. What's the volume?

Beautiful kintsugi! Did you do it yourself?

If you didn't do it yourself, how much did that cost you? I have a couple of lids that I repaired, which I've always wished I'd had kintsugi done on but I don't know anywhere that'll do it outside of Japan (preferably in the UK) without massive cost.

IMO its even nicer with the repairs then without. Gives the pot such a deep character by wearing the owners love within the quality of the repair.

The man of the hour with a favorite piece. Not a kyusu.

After months of indecision...
Thank you Alex, and Chip for your input. Not bad for a first teapot.
I couldn't be more pleased.

Settling right in there.....a lovely pot that should look as much at home on your tea table as in the snow.

My new Kyusu Yohen Shimizu Ken

Being a Shimzu Ken Fan Boy I was very lucky to snag this one. Note the serial number of NR000 yes this is the original Nosaka reduction pot. Reserved by someone from the first batch and then never sold. Spent 3 years tucked away. I was browsing Hojo site and refreshed and it popped up. I didnt think I just bought.
The clay is certainly different from newer batches. It seems more finer and is a stunning piece in the hand with the lighter bits like milk chocolate. Rather then being matte like a new Nosaka Reduction this one has glossy highlights all over. The pot has a lot of soul and I'll treasure this one. Seems much lighter in weight as well.
Thanks to the person that reserved!
