And here is my everyday green tea setup!
The crackling on the wan appeared after the first brew!

Great pairing, David. I hope it brings you years of enjoyment!

Quick hagi question: As I brewed up some roasted bancha today I thought "should I use my hagi cups for roasted flavors?" What do you think? Will using a hagi piece for roasted/other flavors affect hagi or will any green be fine?

I could see using one cup for the roasted greens, but since they are highly aromatic in a persistant kind of way, and given the porous nature of Hagi, I would exercise some caution. Over time the aroma would likely be more of a factor.brad4419 wrote:Quick hagi question: As I brewed up some roasted bancha today I thought "should I use my hagi cups for roasted flavors?" I personally do not.

Thanks Chip. I will stick with porcelain for the roasted and stronger aroma teas.

Here is my first Hagi Yunomi. It is one of the TeaChat SO's that Chip set up.
It is stunning, the photo doesn't begin to do justice to it.
Oh, this will definately not be my last Hagi Yunomi.

That is a really interesting question. It'd be interesting to find out.
I'm going to unveil my new Hagi SO at my teashop this weekend. It'll turn a LOT of people green.
