I wasn't saying it wasn't tasty.
I think I will place a TG order soon.

Have you tried their dark roast TGY? Almost as good as the one Stephane carries.edkrueger wrote:I wasn't saying it wasn't tasty.I think I will place a TG order soon.

No, I was planning to. I have tied the Teamasters and the MTR ones, but not the TG one.

Drinking a stuffed 60ml gaiwan full of DHP today. I think I put in like 10g, there was still room for more! Next time...

Sea Dyke "Rou Gui". Mostly bought it for the tin can, but doesn't taste that bad.

I once got some Sea Dyke Da Hong Pao in a grocery in Toronto, mainly because I wanted to see what they can offer for $6. It didn't have a tin can though. But I think it's great for that price.wyardley wrote:Sea Dyke "Rou Gui". Mostly bought it for the tin can, but doesn't taste that bad.

The can is not bad, considering the tea and can (and the little red ribbon) were $30. I am wondering if it's new old stock (though not as old as the ones on sale at skip4tea) - the texture of the leaves is a little velvety, the fragrance seems a little "aged", and the box feels like it's been sitting around for a while. The top was plugged with some paper, which had tea stuffed in it.gingkoseto wrote:I once got some Sea Dyke Da Hong Pao in a grocery in Toronto, mainly because I wanted to see what they can offer for $6. The leaves are a little choppy. The taste was a little sharp, a little bittersweet, and a tiny bit smoky. I think the 'rou gui' taste is detectable, though.

If it's one of the "gift package" products of Sea Dyke, $30 is a very good deal! They sell those products very quite high prices in China. It seems the North American importers can negotiate very good prices with them.wyardley wrote:The can is not bad, considering the tea and can (and the little red ribbon) were $30. Yeah - packaging and can look identical to the (very expensive - $500 US if I'm converting that right) '90s one here.gingkoseto wrote:If it's one of the "gift package" products of Sea Dyke, $30 is a very good deal! I may pick up some more of them.

LOL just drinking some alishan in my 60ml gaiwan this fine morn. I filled it over a 3rd and the gaiwans hat is raised to the ceiling. Cant close it, squeezing out drops at the end of the pour by squeezing the whole thing............lovelynickE wrote:Drinking a stuffed 60ml gaiwan full of DHP today. Lovely photos, Wyardley!
Yesterday's DHP was quite good, so today I packed the gaiwan full of ~13g to see what would happen. It was even more intense, but somewhat sour with some sharp flavors coming out. Maybe this is the limit.
