SUUUPER Adam! I bet the white shows the crackling with the first use!?!
BTW, that Kyusu was the very last of the SO #11 Kyusu! There are still six of the SO #11 Ao (blue) Tebineri (pinched versus thrown) Yunomi available. And several of the Sansai Tebineri Yunomi!
Heh, I am tickled that there are 5 of these Kyusu in the West in the hands of TCers! Who'd a thunk it!

Re: The unofficial/official HAGI topic!
Noutomi Susumu's father Choun founded the kiln bearing his name. Father and son specialize in tebineri, or so it seems.
This Tebineri Gyokuro set bears a striking resemblance to the Noutomi Susumu sencha set I refer to as da bombe ... or vice versa actually, as well as the new Choun houjin purchased by AdamMy. This set was purportedly made 40ish years ago. The box shows age, but the set is pristene.
Interestingly, it includes a plate as well.
I will be struggling to capture this set's "inner beauty" as the glaze has such a depth to it in both colors and crackling, that it is going to be quite difficult for me to adequately photograph.

I did a 3 hour soak last night, but after using it today and noticing an earthy taste to Kame Gyokuro, it is going back for an 8+ hour soak.

I'd say even your crappy, grainy, cell phone photos capture its essence better than the vendor photos. I was unsure about it earlier, but now I like it. Great find.
