Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Just finished a packet of Honyama sencha from Yuuki-cha this week, and treated myself today to some Gu Zhu Zi Sun to baptize a new teacup. I've also been enjoying some An Ji Bai Cha, including a batch of cool-brewed tea that went down quite gratefully on a long drive yesterday.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Sencha "Kamo" from Maiko. A very tasty asamushi at an extremely reasonable price (just under $15/100g).
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
I'm enjoying a few infusions of Yun Cui from David's. Smoky-sweet and full-bodied. I'm using a large, snow-white, thin-walled gaiwan from The Tea Gallery.
It's really mellowing me out.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
just had my first experience with kamairicha, got an order in from yuuki- cha today part of my x-mass, also got a new tetsubin so I am trying not to just open and drink everything in the box hahah.
the miyazaki kamairicha okumidori is fantastic stuff, has a great sweet floral taste no bitterness and completley lacks astringency.
good green tea day to all!

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Current primary greens ...
Yutaka Midori from O-Cha is back on the menu! Need I say more?
Tamaryokucha (Guricha) Tokujo from Hakoniwado (aka Xell), I ordered this after an earlier OTTI. I really like this selection of guri! Perhaps my fave guri.
Dwindling Yume Gyokuro from O-Cha ... but there is a bag of Kame and a bag of Yame waiting in the TeaFridge. Which one to open ... it is hard to resist the call of the Kame ... she is a siren.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Today was a great day for greens for me, My girlfriend didn't have to go to work as early as normal so we shared a hohin of Honyama Kin-un Gyokuro, from Yukki-cha. I also had a round of Organic Miyazaki Kamairicha Saemidori. this is a great tea, similar to sencha but oh so different.

I loved that Kamairicha from Yuuki-cha when I got a sample as part of a tasting. Delicious stuff.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
I've tried most of David's Japanese greens, which I wanted to like, because they are about a block from my house, oh so convenient. However once I started ordering online from Japan, from the sites recommended on these forums, I could never go back. Even though I thought it would be expensive with shipping, David's premium greens are $40+ BEFORE taxes. You can get a MUCH better tea for that price ordering directly from Japan, even after factoring in shipping, plus you don't pay any tax. Lastly, I know for a fact David's didn't order any 2011 Japanese teas, which means their inventory has been in Canada for well over a year. I also question how it's being stored. They were good teas when they first came out (circa August 2010, I believe), but quite overpriced, as you say. A few stores still have some of them on the shelves, however.Ill-literate wrote:I've tried most of David's Japanese greens, which I wanted to like, because they are about a block from my house, oh so convenient. Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
I found something recently called Fresh Green Tea by a Taiwanese company called Tradition. A lot of Chinese supermarkets carry it. It looks like sencha but tastes sweet, not vegetal. I brew it for 2 minutes at 160 degrees. It's good for 4 infusions. It comes in tea bags individually foil wrapped so they last a long time. At $3.49 for 2oz it's a good buy. Try it.
Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Huang Shan Mao Feng from Jing
at $9.50 for 100g this is a very fair price
Sure it says only one A. But.....its so sweet, very minimal bitter, nice and thick, goes down so easy and smooth, good durability, strong beany with hints of flower and nuts till the very very end. I can't wait to break open the other greens after this impressive intro.

Re: What GREEN are you currently drinking?
Its a sencha laced with matcha...
this tea is different because, the aftertaste is better then the initial taste.
Its not bad.
