Happy TeaRoom TeaDay everyone. I hope you will come in and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday collections were discussed as we learned a little bit about each other. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaRoom poll and discussion topic. Philosphical, maybe, or just again learning a little bit about each other again. If you could be any living creature existing today, what would it be? AND WHY??? I will not get them all, so tell us if I missed you. But I am not a zoologist, so forgive my shortcomings here. I generally picked the most recognizable terma/animals.
I am looking forward to seeing what animal you are today on TeaDay. Bottoms up.

Since I am a literalist and lack imagination, I think will cling tenaciously to my humanity, for better or worse.
I don't know of any other species that can drink tea with such abandon.
According to my supersecretsources, Ippodo’s Hanako tea is a Konacha, what Ippodo calls "sencha flakes" and the rest of the world seems to call "sencha dust." Following Ippodo’s instructions, I poured hot water through a sieve with a little of the Hanako in it. The result was a pleasant—though unspectacular—brew that would be great swilled from a mug in great gulps while eating. Thanks to Chip, Pentox, and Steve for guidance on this stuff.

P.S. – the spent leaves look like the stuff under the lawnmower when you mow the grass while it’s wet.

Feline for me, I can think of nothing better than being able to sleep like cats do. I'm a very light sleeper and I rarely have an undisturbed night.
These summer months are a bit of a pain since I awake with the sun if not earlier-at around 02.30/03.00 in the morning. I need darkness and quiet to sleep.
Ceylon for me this morning, and right now a pot of kukicha.

I'd definitely prefer to stay as I am.... but, I suppose being able to fly around wouldn't be so bad, so I chose bird. The other toss up would be something aquatic, probably dolphin. They always look like they're having so much fun.
Enjoying an oolong this morning. It's been pretty warm here lately and we're right on the cusp of having the AC on, so having tea pushes things over into the uncomfortable side. Fortunately in the morning it is a bit cooler...

I would like to be a cat, preferably my cat if I had to choose.
Who is pampered and loved and safe. I am really a night person,
and I have been known to lay down on the floor in the sun to take a nap.
I am definitely a cat.
I thought about an Eagle for a moment, soaring the skies! But hunting
for my own food, while people are trying to hunt or capture me and
sleeping outside at night is not so appealing.
In my cup this morning LiShan from Floating Leaves Tea.
Have a nice day everyone!

I prefer to remain human, thanks. While blissful imagined existence of life as another form is pleasant, we've turned a blind eye to physical reality far too long, because we've habituated to our heavily-altered environment.

Soothing Assam Blend in my cup, because when you know the Big, Big Picture, reality is more bizarre than you can imagine.

Hmmm... surprisingly, I voted feline. I like cats, but am generally a "dog" person. In fact, I've often assumed that my patronus (Harry Potter reference) would be a dog... for the qualities of intelligence, protectiveness, loyalty, desire of close human companionship, loving nature, and blissful enjoyment of being petted.
I am a dog, through and through.
But the question is... what if I could change that? There is great appeal in the feline mentality. Cats love their independence and face the world completely on their own terms. They are strong, beautiful, cunning, graceful, fast, perfectly coordinated, and quite self-sufficient. They enjoy receiving affection, but alittle goes a long way... they are not emotionally needy. They are cautious, slow to trust, and quietly loyal. They still get attached to those they love, but they effectively know how to pretend that they couldn't care less. They take pleasure in the company of others sometimes, but seem quite happy in their solitude too. They can amuse themselves easily, and nap at the drop of a hat. And I'd love to have the rough tongue, the beautiful eyes, and retractable claws. What's not to love?
Sencha karigane this morning with a sprinkle of yutaka midori added in. Really good!

***This organic blend is earthy & spicy, with a fragrant aroma & smooth flavor to captivate the senses. Naturally sweetened in the Kentucky sunshine & infused with natural energy. Equally delicious when served piping hot or crisply chilled.***
PG Tips Special Blend in the mug.
I would prefer to be a member of the species Homo sapiens, in the current time/place of course, but failing that I'd choose to be a Felis domesticus. In particular, my cat, who leads a rotten spoiled life of snoozing, sight-seeing, getting his food without effort or cleanup, perfect health, loving adoration, grace and fantastic athletic skills. He has it sooooo rough.

Obviously, I would be a cat. I've actually been told be a few people that I act like a cat sometimes. When my fiance and I started dating, he nick-named me "Kitty" for a bit. I am very independent, can sleep any where, very loyal to just a few people, but cautious around others, and tend to be a night person. I actually fell asleep in the high school auditorium once, curled up in one of the chairs, while loud singing and dancing were being practiced on the stage.
No tea yet this morning, though I did have some lovely blueberry pancakes and So Delicious vanilla coconut milk. The coconut milk was awesome! It is the only non-dairy, not chocolate, milk substitute that I would drink straight. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a dairy substitute.
