Good TeaDay everyone. Please stop in and share what is in your cup today.
Yesterday responders took a journey to the Tour de France. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today is a TeaRoom TeaDay to the max. Feel free to discuss just about anything today. For the sake of continuity, Today's TeaPoll is simply ... is tea better today than yesterday? And will it be better tomorrow than today? Philosophically, literally, whatever floats your boat.
I am looking forward to sharing TeaDay with everyone.

It always gets better!
My average kyuusu size, however, is diminishing as I add more midgets. Here is my current line-up in the bantam class.

And I am seriously tempted to grab Victoria's gorgeous and marked-down Dragon Fly kyuusu to add to my larger pots. Please, someone else buy it quick: I am a weak and spineless person.

It only gets better, because with each day you learn a little more about tea, so your tea also improves too. I've noticed my brewing method is betting better each time.
So I guess that's the end of that distraction for you, Sal
Sorry, or thanks I guess...
Wow, I haven't been back on teachat in months, and I just bought my first Tokoname the day before yesterday, and I just snatched up Victoria's offer...Salsero wrote:It always gets better!

I went with 'Other' today because tea seems to vary quite a lot for me, for no apparent reason. Some days everything I make will be fantastic, others, not so good. Hydrostatic pressure or Venus being in retrograde, I don't know. It's like bad hair days.
Organic Yunnan Gold today, don't know how well it's turned out yet since it's still a little too hot for me to take a sip.
A fine tea day to you all. =)

Such minuscule, marginal increases each day that it's really like the same. . . but that's okay, because I'm in a very good place. Of course, occasionally I will pull out an exceptional tea, and the experience spikes
Going to be running with some more oolongs today. Boy I need to get my act together and clean this place up. . . .

I took `yesterday', `today', and `tomorrow' to be metaphorical, so I chose `other'.
I think Tea is better Today than it was Yesterday because of improvements in packaging and reductions in shipping times. I also think it is better Today than it will be Tomorrow because economic pressure will force tea makers to take more shortcuts and resort to more automated methods of production, and rising land prices will reduce further the land devoted to good tea. I see the availability of good Tea diminishing with a corresponding increase in its price, and this may make it economically infeasible for ordinary folks to enjoy good Tea every day.
I am enjoying Jing's Shui Jin Gui this morning, and I plan to finish a package of Sugimoto's SA Sencha this afternoon.

I think the more I drink tea, the more I appreciate it so today is better than yest and tommorow will be better. I am about to brew my first cup of gyokuru from Ito-en, I am actually running low on tea, finished yutaka midori last night so I might scoot down town and see what they have to offer. I'm so nervous about my gyo, I've never even had it before....ok here goes...I'll report back!
Today was most definitely better. Yesterday I used up a sample can that a friend gave me. Today was Adagio's Yunnan Gold. Mmmmmmm.
Sadly, that was also the end of the Yunnan Gold can. I shall have to place a new Adagio order...

Same as Drax.
Intention is to slowly improve leaf and brewing quality, while emphasizing variety (over seasons and within months) of my daily teas. The occasional superior tea tests checks palate and technique progress.
Nilgiri estate tea for starters this morning.
