Yes, definitely, although I have many cups that I love, this one is my favorite:

Made by Fred Parker. In fact my 2nd favorite cup is also a Parker cup, they are just so well balanced, interesting and beautiful. Then I have a tight race for runners up: a yunomi from Cory, one from Seigan, and of course, my Deishi hagi.

Oh, yes. The cup I got from chicagopotter earlier this year is definitely my favorite. It has a skull on!

Times like these, I lament my lack of a camera.

I haven't paid much attention to teacups, focusing my attention the other sorts of tea-ware. I've been using the same porcelain-lined yixing cups I bought in China last year. HOWEVER, I'm beginning to get into Japanese tea-ware, and their teacups are much cooler. I've been paying close attention to some Yunomi, and I see some entering my collection in the near future...

Note: Wow, something cool about the new TeaChat. If someone has posted while you're typing away, they tell you and ask if you want to make changes in light of a new post...this can def. save people from awkward moments.

I have lots of new favorites, but I use this almost every day at work:

Victoria: I use one of those cups at work every day too. I really love it. I was using lots of second-rate teaware at work, and then it occurred to me that I drink tea there 4 days a week, and I should be using at least some of my runner-up favorites... Heh.

My chawan at work are both just regular chawan, nice but nothing special. I just can't bring myself to leave one of my more special bowls down there at the office. Weird?

My favorite cup is my avatar cup, but it's hardly new.

Yeah, I agree! I am there so much, I wanted some nice teaware there. But I also agree, not too much!! So no, not weird. Sounds normal to me. :)

Although I brought them together, and they look very similar. I only favor the lesser quality one (top). Just in case if I drop it, will still have the better one as a spare  A pair of Japanese exports from the late 18th C.

LOL! I do that too, Tim. I have a pair of hagi teacups like the one Victoria posted. I use my second favorite. The "best" one sits on the shelf. I guess that is would fall under "tea idiosyncracies," isn't it?

Here is my new favorite. It really fits to the lips perfectly and shows the color of the tea nicely!

Such beautiful cups! Nothing new for me, though. I've been drinking from some 9oz bodums, double-walled, and will probably continue to do so. Most of my teaware purchases involve pots and gaiwans, not cups.

In any case, not much chance for tea today. But I finally have moved my first patch of kombucha into the fridge, so I will hopefully get a chance to crack into it this afternoon!

Well this just might be my new favorite cup as its well new. But it is supposedly Ming, but I have no proof that it is or is not.

Here it is with 90's Grand Yellow Label

For more images and a little bit more on the cup visit my blog.

Not sure if I can post links as my account was accidentally wiped in the update.

But I think if you click on the little icon of the B under my avatar and such, it should take you to my blog.

I definitely have a favorite cup.
Currently it's this one:

Though I do have a (bad?) habit of finding new favorite cups here and there, but this has been my favorite for about 2-3 months now.

This morning - Pouchong (from Adagio.)
