Greetings TeaChatters to TeaDay. Please stop in and share your tea with us throughout the day.
Yesterday almost half responders indicated they had a new fave teacup this year, but almost half said they did not.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic, one last new fave for 2009 topic. Do you have a new fave TEAPOT this year? Please share with us.
I am looking forward to a better TeaDay than yesterday. Bottoms up.

Re: Saturday TeaDay 7/25/09 New fave teapot 2009?
This poll is impossible to answer, can there be one that says "all of the above but yet none of the above"? I think I may have a new favorite, which is my tokoname, but I don't know if that's because I've been using it exclusively for a week now.
I think my (old) favorite would have to be my duan-ni yixing I bought last year in Washington DC. I've been very happy with the darkening color, which is more noticeable since it's duan-ni. I've dedicated it to Wuyi, and it's totally changed the way my Wuyi taste, which makes me love it even more.

One of many favorites, but I've been using the one on the right in this photo quite a bit lately since I decided to dedicate it to Taiwan oolongs:

No clear favourite here, the pot that I think has seen the most use has to be the small 200 ml glass pot I bought a few months back.

My favorite teapot is one of the first that I purchased -- a "sunrise pear" pot from Seven Cups. It's a beautiful yixing pot that I use for oolongs, a typical dark brown, but it has a picture of a lighter brown/red clay in it in whispery threads in shape of a sunrise on the horizon.
Probably a quick cup of ali shan this morning. My brother's visiting and we're off to hit the town. . .

Good Morning! Starting the day with Tao of Tea Neela, and old
favorite. This is one of my favorite Nilgiri teas, smooth with just a
hint of astringency. Really an elegant, beautiful tea.
Have a nice day everyone!

I am not particularly attached to any teapot, and don't use one more often than another. I use what's clean and handy for most things... and I use what's appropriate for teas that require a certain type of pot for best results. But, I don't have a wide variety of pots or one that I use much more than another. My basic glass and porcelain pots both get regular use, as do all my ingenuiteas, as do my 3 kyusu, as does my gaiwan. My most aesthetically pleasing pot is my lovely Deishi kyusu without a handle. I use it mostly for sencha because the small leaves really come through on pour, so it doesn't get as much use as some of the others lately as other pots have been in action for shincha. But, of all my pots, it is the prettiest.
Balasun FF Darjeeling to start the morning... there's a slow drizzly rain outside, and I have a new camera begging to be used, so I hope the weather perks up. In the meantime, I am going to do some online tutorials since I know next to nothing about photography.

I don't have a new favorite, my gaiwan (if that counts) has been my favorite teapot for a very long time now, it doesn't change, like my favorite tea, or teacup tends to do. I just found cups that match it last weekend too!

This morning - Assam/Kenya blend - black breakfast. It's good with toast!

Hi All,
Nope, no new favorite teapot this year...I pretty much have a set up for each kind of tea that I drink...that keeps me pretty happy!
This morning I enjoyed a big pot of Nilgiri with DH on the deck.
Now I'm having some Vithanakande gong fu style (1 tablespoon, in about 3-4 oz water, for about 10 seconds) OMG it is yummy!!!!! Never tried this style with black before, but I'm lovin' it!!!
Here are a couple of tea pics from my Sanibel vacation...my joy is a lazy afternoon spend on the lanai reading and sipping from a delightful glass of iced tea. Come on along....

Not only my favorite teaPOT, but my favorite set all around!
http://s927.photobucket.com/albums/ad11 ... Teapot.jpg
Its an Iwachu 22 ounce cast iron pot with matching hobnail cups and leaf saucers. In addition I have added a towel, tea-basket rest, tray, set of black buffalo horn spoons, and a cast iron sugar bowl (in front of pot). Finally I purchased a matching (and wonderful) cast iron kettle from Staub.
And of course you see a couple of the Adagio products that this set gets to brew the most!
Peace,
Ryan

In my cup this afternoon Camellia Sinensis Pomelo Oolong. Looks like I will need to reorder, because I am almost of of this one too. A very delicate Orange blossom, lighter than the one from Tea Source for those of you in the know. And it tastes great iced tea too.

New Kitten & his mum today, too cute for words. Will try to get a pick up tonight.
A few too many glasses of wine last night means I'm feeling a little delicate today, been to the tea cupboard twice and still can't decide what I want. An unopened pack of gyokuro is giving me the eye though.
My fave pot is probably my little yixing for wuyi-ish tea. I've had it for a few years so no new fav pot for me his year, still time yet.

New favorite of the day
Dreamer, your photos are the perfect depiction of your concept of paradise ... I love to see how much you are enjoying yourself. Don't you feel the tiniest bit guilty?Dreamer wrote: Here are a couple of tea pics from my Sanibel vacation...

On teapot day what should arrive from Hong Kong today in the mailman's hands but my first Chao Zhou teapot, thrown on a wheel, and my favorite pot for at least one day ... the others are murmuring and getting jealous.

It is by far the thinnest pot that I have, and at $18.90 + $5.60 shipping it is also one of the cheapest pots I have purchased. The feel and appearance are just wonderful and it has evidence of the wheel all over ... it seems filled with life because of all the concentric circles.

It's 120 ml, my ideal size, exactly as advertised.
