Welcome to a Saturday edition of TeaDay. Please stop in often and share what is in your cup ... or just to say hello.
Yesterday we discussed our fave teas for July. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Eh, let's make it a TeaRoom TeaDay. Haven't asked for quite some time, any good reads lately? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaRoom TeaDay with everyone. Read what you like, like what you read.

Yes, not tea related although I usually drink some tea when reading.
I have been reading many classics lately. After finishing La comédie humaine (Balzac) which took me quite a while since there are about 25000 pages, I read "Le Comte de Monte Christo" (Dumas) yesterday. My next book should be "By reason of insanity" (S. Stevens)
Otsuusan sencha this morning.

You read Le Comte de Monte Christo in one day?!
I'm enjoying a biography of Charlemagne.

Even though I've been perusing my Japanese Art History textbook, it's not reading but ogling at the pictures they have. My main read these days is Les Miserables, which I must say, is probably one of my favorite novels...it strikes me like a French version of War and Peace, but with a more compelling story and more epicness.
Sampling some Zencha Takumi. Nailed the brewing process and was taken aback by the tea. Very delicious

Been reading a lot of Neil Gaiman and China Mieville books lately (anyone who likes science fiction/fantasy should give either of these authors a try). Both also have written good children's books (I loved Mieville's "Un Lun Dun"), for those of you with kids to read to.

I randomly picked up Ala al-Aswaany's The Yacoubian building when I visited my local library some weeks ago. Turned out to be quite entertaining.
Other than that I'm trying to get through all of Patricia Cornwell's Scarpetta books and Peter Robinson's crime novels. I say 'trying' since the library doesn't always find the books within a reasonable amount of time, or in the right order. I'm frustrated.
Btw, has anybody read James Church's Inspector O novels?
Having some Earl Grey right now, of all things. Going out to pick up some ebay and Tradera purchases in a bit. First day of the holidays and I'm tired
A good tea day to you all!

Not much reading for me lately unless TC counts. Reading tends to keep me up rather than put me to sleep, so not a good choice for evenings. The last book I "read" was on audio. That works out better for me.
Trying an herbal blend my friend sent me from Germany. Not bad,
this might be added to the late night line up.

Hmmmm, I've been reading a wide range of material, from overseas humanitarian operations, to Japanese manga, to books on orchestration. All good stuff!
I'm tealess this morning. I've got some errands to run, and then I'll come back and have breakfast and tea, I think...

There are a few other fans who post here! Great Stuff.Chester Copperpot wrote:Been reading a lot of Neil Gaiman
I love to read, but have not made the time to do so lately. When I am on a reading binge, I can easily finish 5 books in a week. Just not enough hours in the day any more.
Thinking of revisiting The Stand or jumping into LOTR again. Although, my usual fare is true crime or crytozoology.
Kunpu in our cups this morn. Whatz next?
Hope everyone has a TEArrific TeaWeekend!

I actually just finished my first novel that I actually wasn't forced to read. The book is "A Long Way Gone". It is a memoir of a boy soldier in Sierra Leone. It is a EXCELLENT read! I highly recommend it.

I am currently reading Namesake (a novel about a 2nd generation, young Indian immigrant), What to Eat (about food, nutrition and food policies), and Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind (there is an online pdf version of this book).
I recently read through a bunch of outdoors and backpacking books. My favorite of them are written by Cliff Jacobson. I also read 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I had though it was a corporate book, but actually it's amazingly good - I like it probably because I am just a highly ineffective person

I am currently reading the Prey series by John Sandford. Great books if your into Police thrillers. Fin young Hyson this a.m. So so. I have been spoiling myself with above average senchas lately, so when I switch back to something else it's a little lackluster. I hope everyone has a great day.
