I am looking for a teapot with a ceramic mesh infuser around $40 or $50.
Do you know a good online vendor ?
Thank you
Re: Ceramic mesh infuser
Not sure I have seen a pot with a ceramic infuser, usually just cups.
You don't want metal mesh?
Looking further I found this on Amazon:

By "ceramic mesh" I think ummaya wants something like this but cheaper.ummaya wrote:I am looking for a teapot with a ceramic mesh infuser around $40 or $50.

The pot is crafted with an internal ceramic sieve which most believe does not affect the taste of premium tea.

But @ $160.00 This is way over my head.

Good question ...
Do you mean "infuser" such as a removable basket. Or do you mean a "screen" attached to the base of the spout.
Either way, do you have a size in mind?

How much effect would a metal mesh filter have on the tea flavor? I will admit that it's probably better to have a ceramic filter, but I feel like a lot of us here, especially the ones that start out, probably use a stainless steel kettle of some sort, so the tea flavor is already compromised.

Re: Ceramic mesh infuser
The clay just feels good for some reason, for me anyway. I don't think a stainless steel screen adversely affects the tea. But somehow knowing the harmonious sasame is is there adds an organic feel to the process.

Try Rishi tea (rishi.com, I think). They have some - there is a lovely little white (or sort of cream) one (approx 300ml, I think), and I have one. It has 'sasame' (not sure I have that quite right, but something like that is the name for the fine ceramic mesh 'screen').
I love mine, and I really like the light color, as I can see the color of the tea better.
Cheers!

Here's a link to images of the 'cream' colored tokoname at Rishi:
http://www.rishi-tea.com/store/teaware_ ... etail.html
It's in your price range.
Here's the main page for the teapot:
http://www.rishi-tea.com/store/kikumaru.html
Oh, and it's 9oz, or about 266ml.
Cheers!

ps - 'sasame' is the correct term for the ceramic mesh. I prefer sasame to metal and agree with some experts about the effect of metal on tea, vs ceramic.

Hi, I posted your link (pic) for the people that, Once they leave the thread have a hard time getting back to were they started. (My self in particular)
I can see why you like it. And the price is more in line with what they were looking for ($55.00)
Re: Ceramic mesh infuser
Well I'm still betting the OP was looking for an infuser. If looking for a pot with a sasame filter, they would know what that was and where to get it.
Anyway, we may never know. But it's been a fun ride.

As so often happens, the OP seems to have abandoned the field in the face of the frenzied mob of teaware lovers run amok!

Re: Ceramic mesh infuser
ArtisticNippon has many Tokoname and Banko pots with sasame filters (ceramic filter built-in). Usually the better pots have this. The prices vary dramatically but this vendor deals directly with the artists and is completely trustworthy.ummaya wrote:I am looking for a teapot with a ceramic mesh infuser around $40 or $50.

Hojo Tea is another. A bit pricier than AN but at least you can see high quality.
There are other vendors if you google. And, most of the tea vendors offer pots both with and without ss filters.
