Blue Monday ... or Great TeaDay, you choose. But regardless, welcome, and please stop in and share what is in your cup this day.
Yesterday we discussed FreeDay TeaDays on a quiet day on the forum. Coincidence? Still the discussion was entertaining! You can still vote and discuss yesterday's TeaDay.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. A stranger walks into your home, do they know you are a TeaNut without having to ask? Please share in what could be a fun TeaDay!
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Monday TeaDay 8/17/09 Obvious TeaNut Home?
As far as my house...no. Since I'm at college and have roommates, my room is the only thing that really depicts my love for tea.

Yes I would say so, as long as they could figure out what the various wares were actually for!
Mr Liu's Hong Yun Yunnan Black tea to start the day, gongfu of course!

People might be able to tell, but the only real immediately visible evidence is the 6 or so teapots on top of my fridge. Everything else is tucked away. Opening my pumidor, however, would cinch it... of course, that's assuming they don't think it's a stash of other stuff. haha
The single bush dan cong that I started yesterday lasted all day, so I decided to stick with it today to see how it continues to do. Wonderful stuff. Have a great week everybody, and good luck to Florida with hurricane Ana headed in that direction!

Definitely not. I don't have much teaware, and the visitor would have to open a certain kitchen cabinet to get clued in. It seems I keep my addiction under wraps.
Having some delicious sencha today. Slurrrp.

I think it is obvious, but I get a lot of folks in my home who somehow miss it. I do not have a lot of teaware and most of what I do have is away in a cupboard. The teas are all out on a small shelving unit, but the majority of the teas are in tins of one form of another (ones in baggies or wrappings are stored in bins beneath).
What I hear most often - and I hear it A LOT - is "Do you sell those candles or something?"

Maybe someone could tell, but it wouldn't be obvious. I don't have a lot of teaware, and the pots that I keep out, a porcelain pot and a kyusu, are for everyday tea. My better teaware is stored out of sight.
Jing's Shui Xian is in my cup again this morning.

I think in my home, it would be hard to miss. I have one of those open floor-plan places where kitchen, dining, and living area are all one big L-shaped room. There's a shelf in the dining area that is completely covered with tea pots, cups, and cannisters... a Zoji, more tea cannisters, and several brewing vessels on my countertop... and if they bothered to open cabinets or the pantry....
I found some FooJoy Monkey-Picked TKY this morning, enough for just one pot, taken from the oolong box pass. The smell of the dry leaf was sort of blah, so I did a quick warming re-roast on the stovetop, and now it's really delicious! I love the flexibility and longevity of oolongs.

If they walked into the kitchen, they could certainly figure it out. Most of my tea and teaware is in a cabinet now, but at my old place it was all out on the counters.
Starting the morning with some Yunnan black from, of all places, Target.

Chip, you have gotta be kidding, right?
Since I work in retail and do all of the flowershop displays, throughout our home are constantly everchanging min-displays of whatever items we choose to look at for the current week/month.
Soooooo, no surprise that it is the same with our TeaWares, but not teas!
Top answer gets my vote.
We are both visual individuals and like to gaze upon things that we like i.e. teaware. Displays of these items are abundant in our home, but I will allow Chip to go further with that if he so desires.*wink*
I can't click on the winky icon since the delete all board cookies is running right through that line of icons and I already deleted my post once!
Great tea this morning and now mugicha in my cup.
Have a TEArrific TeaDay everyone and enjoy lots of tea!

I picked "I don't think so" because I don't have much teaware...but then I was reminded of how my bf jokily complains about the tea tray he frequently finds on the couch. So if the tea tray (w/ gaiwan, serving pitcher etc) were on the couch, a visitor might clue in to my attachment to tea. But I have no stupendous displays of teaware in my apartment...yet!

Yeah, absolutely. From the first step in the door. There are teawares displayed especially in the kitchen. I need to see in order to choose. If I put things in cabinets, I fear I would neglect some worthy teawares. Being able to see everything helps me to put a tea session together completely all the way down to matching the tea with teawares.
Besides that, teaware is just too beautiful to hide.
Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha, what better way to start the TD. SweeTea was front and center for a taste while Wulong wanted absolute attention!

When looking around my place people simply would not know that I am heavily into tea. Oh there's a few items laying out in the kitchen but that's it.
