Very few mew cakes are going to command such a price, and usually the seller has the decency to say a little more than "produced by scientific process".
I'd avoid it like the plague.

Based on that kind of description, I would not even spring for a 25 gram sample. Little too much glitz and very little substance to go on...
I would say to avoid this one. Now if the vendor will pony up a decent free sample, then that is a different story.

I remembered to see this cake when I was at a duty free shop, Kunming International Airport last June. It was expensive indeed, even in Chinese currency.
The teas sold at the Airport was considered as a last minute's lure, IMHO.
Never taste it, can't say it's good or bad.

I believe the rule of thumb is the prettier the packaging the more they are trying to compensate for the quality of the tea.

This is a selection of tea in Yunnan Menghai, ban chang, South waxy, Wu Yi tea tea, after the completion of the production of scientific formula, provided the following picture is the entire production process! It is mainly for collectors! Such as store a few years later, a very good taste, great value! Yunnan, China to have a friend, will usually have been to colorful Yunnan, where the environment is a first-class, production of tea is also a first-class. Perhaps when you go to Yunnan, to forget to bring this tea! It does not matter, you may also order it easily!
(Recommendation: brewing tea in Yunnan, the use of Kung Fu tea brewing, taste better! Efforts need to order tea, please click into the view ... ...)

You people drink too much cheap cakes, is that why you all bash this cake automatically because it's expensive and young?

Thanks for the complement.LaybackPandas wrote:You people drink too much cheap cakes, is that why you all bash this cake automatically because it's expensive and young?

It couldn't be that we are suspicious of a high price that is not accompanied by a proper description of provenance.

What a baseless and absurd comment.LaybackPandas wrote:You people drink too much cheap cakes, is that why you all bash this cake automatically because it's expensive and young?
Re: Yunnan Colorful's "Favorites" raw cake
It could be that while young sheng has its place and can be good, this seems to say hey Our cake will be worth $70 in 5 years with the proper storage. Though sadly they are trying to sell it now, to people who probably have less than ideal storage, for a price which it will only have in the future with the correct storage. I mean for 80 dollars I can get a tea 10 years older than this, which had some wet storage, but is an amazingly well balanced cake that tastes great. Is it really that big of a choice between something that Might taste good in 5-10 years, or something that I know tastes good now?LaybackPandas wrote:You people drink too much cheap cakes, is that why you all bash this cake automatically because it's expensive and young?
