I am not much of a morning eater in the first place, so it's always tea first for me.

When I'm not working I like to taste new teas and take tasting notes, when my judgment isn't compromised by other tasks. When I am working though, I brew some generic Assam with milk/honey to wake me up, which I take even before I have breakfast...so tea reigns supreme in my book.

Don't usually eat breakfast anyway, and when I do, it often negatively influences my morning tea sessions (the breakfast food messes with the flavor profile of whatever tea I'm brewing).

Finished comparing Tea Gallery's Classic Roast to Just 4 Tea's roasted TGY

Food is first.
Usually I have a light breakfast before going running and a big breakfast after. Tea about one hour later.

Otsuusan sencha this morning.

Food first for me, my stomach just can't handle the tea until after I've eaten...I really like smooth, refreshing blacks like Darjeeling, Keemun and Yunnan after a big breakfast :)

Hm, interesting...! Usually every morning I have a bowl of oatmeal with some raisins or other fresh fruit, along with a cup or two of tea. So as of this writing, I'm the only one who has voted both... I was not expecting that!

In any case, I've been lazy... I took the same single bush oolong for another spin. Perhaps the last? It was very good, and I think I got some great enjoyment from it, especially given it was a free sample!

Urge for tea is strong
But to ensure functioning
Grub must first be had

Enjoying a surprisingly well-brewed Dragon Well at this very moment. It set me in a poetic mood.

I find myself unable to vote.

Coffee first
Food 2nd
Tea in the afternoon and evening!

I planted Hollyhocks for the first time this year, but I should have bought some more attractive stakes.

Image

I should have paid more attention over the last 6 weeks, but it rained for the whole of July - I did NO weeding :( and no staking/ tieing in.

I should also seek some advice from a camera expert on how to get more depth of field, I wanted to get both the Hibiscus and Hollyhocks in focus, whilst having little else in the shot.

Image

The Hibiscus has deepened it's shade of blue over the last 2 weeks.

Organic asamushi (Light steamed) kabusecha (o-cha) to start the afternoon. Very nice taste. Not too expensive (13$ per 50g).

Tea is definitely first for me. I don't usually eat until my second brew.

This morning Upton's Kirkoswald Estate BOP. And they weren't kidding by the "broken" part, looks like rooibos. I'll brew the rest of this sample for iced tea.

Have a nice day everyone!

I am an endless snacker, so the two are inextricably linked. I do drink different teas throughout the day for tasting purposes. I like to have something to eat nearby though.

Sadly my midsection shows proof of this. :-(

In my cup this day: Genmaicha from Uji No Tsuyu

Tea is almost always first for me. I sleepwalk to fill the water kettle and while it's heating decide which tea best suits my mood. Vacations are more relaxed for me. Then, I usually stretch and meditate, go for a walk with my wife, have a casual breakfast with juice, and then maybe tea in mid- to late morning. I like tea on work mornings and on busy weekends (all weekends are busy) because it gently wakes my senses.

Takumi shincha is my breakfast tea today. I feel pretty good so it's green tea for breakfast. Finished yesterday sharing the exquisite Ya Bao with my son and his friends.

Food is always first for me. I wake up every morning with an overwhelming hunger. I'll wait until about an hour after breakfast before making tea. Lately, my habit's been to read a good book on the couch while enjoying my tea.

Since I have just woken up, no tea for me yet! :P
