I swear the search feature is only going back as far as the last forum update.

I know there is past info out there already which isn't coming up. Kind of frustrating.
Anyway, who has experience with Mumyoi Yaki (aka Sado) pots for brewing oolongs? I seem to remember someone went to Hojo and did a head to head test with an $1800 Yixing pot and that it didn't stack up? Tead Off perhaps?
So who's tested one? Who owns one? What are your thoughts? What teas do you use it for? How has it seasoned? Any sources to look at besides Hojo? Throw it all out there folks! Thanks.

Thanks for doing the search.
My feeling hasn't changed about Sado. Doesn't stand up to good quality zhuni teapots. More expensive than an 80's zhuni pot. The lids don't fit as well as I prefer. They are good with oolongs. Better than the Mie yaki in this regard. They are difficult to find and produce. Not many artists working in this fashion. This may have something to do with the price beside Hojo being involved.

Thanks Brandon! That's an excellent trick that I didn't know about. Cool way of using Google. That's going to be very useful for future searches. I had already tried searching for "teachat sado" and it returned way fewer results.
Tead Off- thanks for summarizing your opinion again. I remember you mentioning the poor lid fit now. Hojo states that the shrinkage rate when firing is as much as 30%- perhaps this is why. It's hard to tell from the photos, but it doesn't seem like the Sado pots show as much wrinkling as real Zhuni do.
