Greetings fellow TeaChatters and welcome to a TeaRoom TeaDay. Please come in and share with us what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed tea and diseases. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's TeaDay.
Today's TeaRoom poll and discussion topic. I don't think I ever asked anything like this at all. Are you a musician or are you musically inclined? Please share an open mic jam session.
I am looking forward to sharting this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

LOL ... thanks for making the "great listener" category. I fit right in. I can also be a great critic, but maybe we shouldn't go there.

Coincidentally, I did make a wma file recording of a chorus of frogs last night, but I don't know how I would share that.

Re: Saturday TeaRoom 8/29/09 Musically inclined?
I am somewhat musically inclined, but I'd have trouble coming up with concrete evidence to support that claim. I've been meaning to learn how to compose music, but the result so far are two unread books on music theory and composition on my bookshelf.
My brother, on the other hand, is a drummer in a punk rock band. They're pretty good, I think.
No tea yet today, but I'm in the mood for sencha.

I am a really good listener.

I do have a good ear however, just cannot pick up my own deficiencies.
Began the TD with a Magokoro from Yuuki-Cha. I have had this in the past and have been impressed by it, still am. SweeTea was impressed as well while Lili and Wulong were not.

if you count the tapping sounds I make with my yixing pots...than maybe
of course, it would work better if I owned older pots, so at least I can make bell sounds...

Re: Saturday TeaRoom 8/29/09 Musically inclined?
I guess I could say that I am musically inclined. In the past, I have learned how to play the piano, clarinet, and glockenspiel (its like a small, metal xylophone). During high school, I was in concert band, jazz band, marching band, chorus, and acted in the musicals every year. I don't do much of that any more, beyond singing to whatever CD that I have in my car and playing my piano on occasion. We are going to see the marching band this year since my fiance's younger brother joined it. We are very proud of the little brother for going with the sousaphone just like my fiance did.

I love music...I'm what some people would consider an audiophile but I can't play any instrument. I used to be able to play the piano and guitar (nothing hard only beginner songs) but that has faded with time.

OK, I found a wma hosting site and here are The Frogs (sounds like a 60's bubblegum musical group).
I'm still working on the water lilies photo.

I am in that listener category!
I can occasionally hum...and I have been known so sing along quite loudly in the car!
I think the music genes skipped a generation...my mom taught herself to play piano (I knew this) and was apparently good enough to play "on the radio" (I never knew this till after she died). I unfortunately never heard her play
...we never had a piano and her parents had sold the one she learned on after she got married.
My daughter played clarinet in school and even marched in Marching Band one year...If you've ever known a bunch of teenagers who magically transformed into an actual marching band, you'd be impressed by this! After playing for 7 years in school, she put down the clarinet and seems to have no musical interest at all. She does have an appreciation for what's involved in making great music.
My son would sit at our piano at age three and "play". He plays percussion...jazz band, concert band, and basement band (our basement
). He is most into screamer bands right now. He likes to devise all the parts...his bandmates often leave their instruments at our house and he spends time down there coming up with parts for each of them. He is now working on getting a keyboard.
Yep, the music genes definitely skipped a generation!
This morning I'm having almost the last bit of my fave Nilgiri Glendale. I have maybe enough left for one more cup
Later iced tea on the deck...forecast is for 77, sunny and breezy this afternoon (very abnormal...usually blazing hot here this time of year).
Have a great tea day, All,

Everyone on the Swedish side of my family is musical and plays an instrument. Family gatherings always included music and song after dinner. I've been playing guitars for almost fifty years, and I used to play piano, trumpet, accordion and harmonica but I haven't kept them up. I performed wrote and arranged when I was younger but I eventually switched to a career in mathematics instead. Music has always been my primary emotional outlet.
Started the day with a fifth brew of Hou de's Lao Cong Shui Xian. Wow.

At first I thought definatly not but then I remembered my old talent. I can whistle amazingly well. Really though I don't know if I would call it music but I get complements everytime I bust out a whistle solo in the middle of a song on the radio. Sometimes people who can't see my mouth say "I don't remember this version".

Not from a musical family per se, but the 'rents were/are active listeners and encouraged music playing/listening. I've played woodwinds (flute/piccolo, oboe and recorder(s)) and contemplating learning the harmonica. Am an audiophile. Yeah, I can whistle too, used to do it a lot while sitting collecting spectra on an various instruments in the lab (gotta love them shower-like acoustics).
High Mt med roast oolong to start, sencha presently in my cup, probably the last of my present batch of iced tea later on. A tad cooler today, thankfully. Lovely morning for tea taken outdoors to enjoy the early morning coolness.

Uilleann (Irish) pipes. Half-set only, though (chanter and drones)... no regulators yet.
Hmm, maybe that's why I'm so fond of greens
