I got a kyusu at last..

by Rainy-Day » Sep 2nd, '09, 16:13

I bought this nice little kyusu: http://www.o-cha.com/green-tea/tokoname-teapot-302.html. I should have asked about it before buying of course, but.. Is it better suited for some types of Japanese teas? Is it going to be ok for Gyokuro? I know it should normally be wider for that, it's sort of an average squashedness, if that's a word.

You can brew anything in that, it should be fine for Gyokuro. :)

What a sweet little pot, I like it!

Yeah, what he said.

A pot for gyokuro does not need to be flat. I think it is helpful if it is flat and you use hotter water.

The pictures look great...do you have it yet? I'll bet it looks even better in person! Happy sipping!

Thanks for replies! Yep, got it today. Looks very nice with a kind of organic rough texture where colour is green, you can't see that in the pictures. The lid fits very snugly. I wasn't very careful when picking it, because I want to buy something custom-crafted in a few months.
