I have yunomi! I have yunomi!

Please excuse cell phone photo, more enthusiasm than credible image, but it is so pretty, and I am so excited to share!

It is more beautiful than the photos in Ginko's catalog, feels so substantial and fits my hand so well, yet looks so delicate. Today brewing An Ji Precious Rare White Tea from Wing Hop Fung in celebration.

More/better photos to follow.

Thanks !

My kiln is a professional electric one : fiber and scrubs , going to 1280 °with an electronic program board ( I can programm my firing curves ). I have it from 1994 .

I have not posted in a while about my yunomi--crazy couple of weeks with work--but this weekend will try to get some better pics of the blue/green and white one I showed the phone pic of above.

Meanwhile, just imagine the lovely little concerto from this cup when it is slowly filled with very hot tea, and tiny bubbles rise from glaze....

Tonight I was listening to some Medium roast winter Ali Shan oolong from Norbu 'playing' the granite-colored cup.

Today I played again with photographing my pretty yunomi. It is not as easy as it looks!

I put more images of the 'seafoam' blue-green and white cup in the general teaware topic here.

I spent so much time shooting and only after did I realize I mostly forgot to show off this side of it

Image

It even gracefully gives way to the flowers, when need be:

These are bowls just before firing . Shinos are someting still wet and sometimes it crackles and makes funny textures. sometimes i put very thick glaze one over the other but it is always "dangerous" because it can go off in the firing or also dip on the shelves .

Hi Ginkgo,

I love seeing the before and after shots as well.... a great variety of thick and thin application too.

Keep up the nice work!

Best,
R
