Sunday TeaDay 9/06/09 Labor Day Weekend Plans?

by Chip » Sep 6th, '09, 01:00

Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. I hope you will stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we continued discussions on China. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today is a TeaRoom TeaDay. Do you have holiday weekend plans? Please share. How will tea figure into it?

I am looking forward to sharing this TD with everyone. Bottoms up.

I definitely have holiday plans. And those plans are to do nothing! Bwhahahahaha!

This morning, I'm cracking into the puerh shop's American Hao 901. It's a pretty potent sheng with a nice fullness of flavor. I think this will be a great TeaDay!

My favorite kind of plan.

No holiday stuff here in Ye Olde Worlde this weekend, but then again, we have so many holidays and long vacations.

More oolong this Sunday. It seems to fit well with late summer, but I don't know why.

Yep, got some plans. My family is getting together for grilling out burgers and such around lunchtime. I get to see my nephew who's 19 and been away from home for a few months, and that will be very good. Then at 7pm I go on call at the hospital for the rest of the night. Only time will tell if Labor Day lives up to its name and brings on "labor" and babies. I'd personally rather sleep through the night! Tomorrow, I'm thinking perhaps a visit to a big ole flea market nearby might be fun, and I'm resisting the urge to go buy a new laptop which I desperately need. This one is on it's last leg.

No tea yet... what shall I have?

No, no plans specific to the holiday.
We've got some plans to grill later and we'll probably stay outside all afternoon (if the rain stays away) and savor the last "official" weekend of summer.

Tomorrow, who knows what we might decide to do.

Enjoy,
Dreamer

No real plans. MY SIL is supposed to come over either today or tomorrow and hang out.

Started the day with Adagio's Black Dragon Pearls.

Have a nice day everyone!

Off to an in-law picnic today ... any minute. I will be making mussels as my contribution. Tea will travel along. I see the need to put together a "travel package" that I can just grab and go instead of reinventing the wheel each time.

Began the TD with Yutaka Midori from O-Cha.

No plans, just the usual laundry and grocery shopping, housework and yard work. Very glad we don't have to go to work on Monday, though!

Bewley's Dublin breakfast blend this morning.

Hey, Chip, have you been working out?
(Sorry, couldn't resist, please forgive me!)

No real plans, getting ready to do a huge amount of laundry. Then there is a rose circle in our yard that has been needing removal for a while, so I am going to get to work on that.

Nilgiri Chamraj estate in my cup this morning. TeaSource is offering this as a replacement of their "regular" Nilgiri Glendale. It's good, but not as good as the Glendale.

Not exactly within the labor day weekend per se, but since I don't work Tuesdays, I'm going to Tea Habitat with some family to do a tea tasting. I have an entire list of questions to ask her, and hopefully she won't feel too inundated.

Drinking some Oriental Beauty from Floating Leaves. Very tasty, but the varietal confuses me, especially with its high amount of oxidation...should I brew it in my light, medium, or strong roast yixing? I ended up using a Gaiwan, just to play it safe.
