I hang my head in shame, for I have only recently discovered the joy of looseleaf tea, at a small restaurant when out with a friend of mine. I was previously unaware of the inferiority of bagged teas, and pleasantly surprised at the strong, clear, sweet, beautiful flavor... I could go on, but suffice to say I had reached tea nirvana.
I'm planning on ordering some teas and making do with paper filters and cups for now, but I AM adding one of the infuser teapots to my Christmas (or perhaps birthday!) list!
Please be gentle, I'm so amazingly ignorant to the ways of fine tea.

Ask lots of questions!
I'm relentless in my question asking and I've only been made to feel stupid a handful of times.
Just kidding.
Lots of knowledgeable, patient, and interesting, people here.
Present company excepted.
lol

I would never... I mean, I am a perfect lady when I play videogames of any sort! Well, maybe not SSX, but everything else!
I did not realize how unfortunate my title sounded.

Oh, good! I thought I was a freak of nature. Or... um... fine-tea-dom.

If you are still using paper filters to steep your loose leaf teas, you're in for a shocker: you need to move to the next step. Very little new gear needed, cost is less than 5 buckeroos.
A large size tea infuser for your mug. They're made for teapots, but they work just swell in a mug, giving your tea leaves more breathing space and giving you a much improved brewing result.
All you need is a pinch clip to hold the other side, the one without the little handle on it, at the rim.
Interestingly, you can let a plastic/nylon large teapot infuser (sans clip) simply 'swim' in the hot water of a tea mug, as it will stay neutrally buoyant just at or slightly beneath the liquid surface. The leaves tend to stick inside the basket at the water surface because of mass effect.
