Greetings everyone and welcome to a great TeaDay! Please share what is in your cup with us throughout the day.
Yesterday, I accidently deleted the votes while ammending the poll, please vote again. Yesterday's topic was most memorable Wizard of Oz quote, celebrating the 70th anniversary of its release to the silver screen.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Autumn is a day late this year. Does the change in weather alter your tastes in TYPES of tea? Please be sure to share with us the 5 "W's."
I am looking forward to sharing this last day of Summer TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Monday TeaDay 9/21/09 Last day of Summer, changes?
The only possible change due to the cooler weather is that i might occasionally drink black tea, definitely no change other than that.
I finished the day with semi-wild wudong dancong from Jing.

I also try signature blends to put me in the season/holiday mood.

I will make no changes, at least not consciously. My tea consumption will be a chaotic as ever.
Having a Gunpowder sample today. Not bad at all, if it wasn't for the startling noise and all the sulfuric smoke.

I have a feeling that "when" will go way up. My drinking has tapered off in the summer months, partly due to the hot weather. I expect as the outside temperature cools, I will be looking more frequently to a hot cup of tea to keep me warm.
This morning, I am trying XiaGuan's 2009 "eco wild" tuo... or at least, that's what the puershop called it. Supposedly from wild trees. I think the remnants of my cold is taking the edge off of this tea, but even so, it's pretty potent. Mmmm.

Now that you brought up the question and I thought about it, I find that I tend to move from pretty much exclusively green in the warmer months to adding in a few more blacks during the colder months. But it is not a deliberate, conscious action. It just "happens".

Thanks for the levity and jocularity you provide for us in you posts!
Silver Needle will be my 2nd tea of the day in honor of the fun.
Currently in my cuppa, something green of course, the Mod shall expound on it in his post!
Have TEArrific TeaDay everyone!

... not much of a change in tea selections. More oxidized tea, black oolong and even Pu-erh will find its way into the line up, but Japanese greens will almost certainly dominate as usual. I have no reason to change this.
Began the TD with Zencha Fuga Limited Edition with DW. As I am enjoying this, I am also learning more and more about Aracha and so called Farmer tea. This is not aracha but it prompted questions which I posed to the vendor with interesting answers. I will have to post this in green tea.

I tend to have more darker oolong and black tea in autumn and winter. When I can't decide oolong or black, there is always Oriental Beauty

I went with "not much of a change."
If anything, there will not be much iced tea around.

There is a pleasant 'snap' in the early morning air, but we're still seeing daytime highs mid-80s to low-90s. Cold brewed ice tea, a key feature of summer tea fare that allowed continued use of lighter blacks and greener oolongs in hot weather, will probably continue as a lower caffeine, later afternoon pick-me-up for a month or so yet.
Teas will drift towards the oxidized types most certainly because we do have winter here, although NOAA is forecasting a mild/warm, dry for most of the US winter from 90-day climate prediction models. NASA and their Australian counterparts are forecasting a moderately strong El Nino.

Strong El Nino climate patterns have been linked to historic droughts in tea-growing Asia.
Tiger Hill OP in my cup again.

I don't anticipate much change since I drink both hot and iced tea all year-round.
I enjoyed the last of my Japanese Black sample this morning. This is on my list to get next time I order tea.

I pretty much know there will not be much of a change since the seasons don't change much here and since OOLONG rules.
Started the day with Ruan Zhi Oolong from Jing Tea Shop.
Have a nice day everyone!
