Beyond this, I am not tipping my hand til ... well, I simply recommend keeping your eyes and ears open since each of the first five SO's have been instant sell outs.
I am often asked how do I choose pieces for these Special Offers. They must be unique and/or different at the time of the organizing a Special Offer. Sometimes a Special Offer has a longggg turn around. The one Special Offer has been in the works for 4+ months. This creates additional challenges.
They are "limited runs" and never mass produced units which are finding their way onto the scene enmasse as of late. So for instance, Seigan has limited runs, BUT then he has other mass produced pieces that are manufactured in very large runs for more of a gift shop market of around 1500 units. Obviously, those are made quite differently than the more hand made limited runs.
Still, prices are set at below market value at the time, also adding to the "special" aspect.
Some are created from a figment of my imagination, pieces I have never seen before. To say this it is an anxious moment when I see them for the first time is an understatement, but also very exciting.
The seller then works first hand with the artisans to create our SO's!
These are all aspects of keeping the SOs unique and of even more interest since they may never be seen again.
So far, I have resisted offering more commonly seen pieces, but might throw some in the mix as well over time. You will be informed if and when this occurs. And I will definitely identify a mass produced SO, if there ever is one!
