Good TeaDay everyone. Please do drop by and share what is in your cup throughout the day!
Yesterday we discussed whether Japanese teas were in da house. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Today we continue to discover a consensus of teas by country for TeaChatters. Today, please share whether or not you own any Taiwan teas that are still fresh and usable? Share some information regarding your Taiwanese teas.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up!

Re: Saturday TeaDay 10/10/09 Tie one on with Taiwan?
I have a couple of bags of Taiwanese oolong, from which I derive great pleasure. Yes, I drink and derive.
Today's great pleasure is provided by SN, though.

I have only one, a tung ting from Teaspring. I haven't really covered Taiwanese oolong yet, but my plan is to do that next harvest.
I'm off to Block Island for two days. Have a great weekend folks.
Hou de's Lao Cong Shui Xian from Zheng-Yen is in my cup this morning.

I have one TGY, but I don't think I have anything else from Taiwan.
I was up way too early for a Saturday, but I am enjoying a strong cup of Organic Monk's Blend and may make some masala chai and banana bread soon.

I have some Taiwanese oolongs (Dong Ding, Tie Guan Yin) but in small quantities as I don't drink oolong very often.
Himalaya Gold this afternoon.

I have two Tung Tings, one processed by hand, one by machine.
They are slightly different roast levels, so it's nice to compare.
Also I some Bai Hao oriental beauty that I've just started to explore.

Yes, I have several Taiwan teas. Mostly greener oolong. Might have some Alishan later!
Began the TD with a blend of Sae Midori fro O-Cha (bottom of the tin) and Hatsumi from O-Cha as well. An unusual blend that worked well together. SweeTea had no complaints ...

Yes, for me, they dominate my tea selection. I have many open bags and many unopened bags, and many I should probably toss. But then I think about this excellent tea, that tenuki sent me. That he was about to toss, but decided to reroast it. And I think ... I should reroast. Therefore I do not toss that which should be tossed.
Started my day with FF Soom Estate Darjeeling. Now some nice LiShan oolong.

I have several, mostly samples from the Oolong box, but a larger quantity of Sweet Flower Oolong and Formosa Choicest from TeaSource. Plus someone at work gave me a bag of "Choice" Oolong that was given to her.
Nilgiri Chamraj this morning, and now some iced Red Rose while watching "West Side Story."

The dominate by tea selection, but not by choice. My family is from Taiwan, so we always have an over-abundance of Taiwanese tea in our household. I can't get them to buy anything else if they're visiting, because they have an extreme case of tea chauvinism.
Sadly, this means that I rarely order from vendors that specialize in Taiwanese Oolong, such as Floating Leaves and Stephane, because I have too much of my own.
And not surprisingly, in my cup is...a Li Shan from my personal collection. Must finish before it goes stale!

I don't have any tea from Taiwan currently. However, that's a bit unusual as I normally have some Taiwan oolong in my tea cupboard - Dong Ding or Alishan. I'm going through a Tai Guan Yin (from China - Anxi province) phase which has replaced Taiwan tea for now. This will change soon as I will be ordering some a Baozhong in the very near future.
So far today, Sae Midori and a magnificent Chai tea.

Always at least one taiwanese oolong in my rotation, I love 'em!
Today, I'm enjoying some White Peony competition grade from NCTG. In the background is my new Seto Yuzuriha teacup. These particular teacups are traditionally produced and handpainted only by women. The colors are vibrant and lovely, the glaze is clear and glassy. It's not really like anything else I have in my collection. I'll post a couple of pictures in "show-off."
