What do you do with your "shake?"

I'm not sure if this is the correct location for this topic, but I find I get my most "shake" from pu.

So, what do you do with the leftover dust, flakes, shavings, tiny little pieces left over after prying apart a nice cake? I've been discarding the dust, but can I mix the various ones and make tea bags? Would it be bad to mix the sheng and shu?

I keep it in a tin, and I find that it smells kinda nice. Haven't reached a state where I have a bunch, but I would love to brew it (with a strainer of course) and seeing what kind of crazy concoction I would get. I imagine it would be like being hit by a truck, or like a brick to the head...I don't know about mixing sheng and shu, but I would keep it separate for now, and maybe would mix them later on in small doses to see what kind of brew it makes.

The "dust" I simply toss, but the small broken leaves I tend to brew with larger pieces. I like the extra kick.

If it isn't too much (I try to be neat), I either brew it right then, or wrap it up with the beeng.

If it's leftovers of samples I tried and didn't want to buy, I throw them in a jar, cover the lid hole with thin cloth, and put it in my storage. Should be interesting to take random bits out of it in 30 years.

I keep mine (dust and tiny leaves) in a little cardboard tuocha box. Sheng and shu mixed. I haven't tried it yet, but figure it'll make interesting teabags someday.... more interesting than what I can get at most restaurants anyway.

I hate to throw anything away, that prompted me to buy.
a set of small spice canisters. (Ideal for storing shake)
Some U-fill Tea bags and the shake and you have the ingredients to make iced tea. It's harder to taste cold tea so it needs to be stronger anyway.
I also have some loose leaf Darjeeling Oolong (2 yr.old & mild taste)
Thats all I need to blend the prefect iced tea.

I collect my shakes in a tin as well. I bought some bagged green tea awhile ago -- the brand escapes me at the moment, but it came in a nifty squarish tin with a japanese or chinese scene on the outside. The best part about it is that it has no logo emblazoned on it, so it looks pretty nice, too. The tea in the tin smells absolutely wonderful!

I hate wasting tea and I have some crumbly bits of green tea and I'm just brewing them with the regular leaves.
Bought some rolled up green tea and some at the bottom of the bag was broken (not much maybe 2 spoonfulls) and I usually brew my tea then pass through a mesh strainer as I have no tea pot here....

The tea seems to taste fine so far....

I don't think I would mix green and black tea together though,would just keep those in small jars until mostly full and use for flavored tea or iced tea.

That's a good one. Very funny.

I had my doubt before I purchased heat seal tea bags. The tea bags are made of nonwoven fabric, same material used in some black/green tea bags. The opening can be sealed with hot iron and no glue is required. Didn't taste any "added" flavor when I used in a thermos. This is very convenient when traveling, BTW.

I considered drawstring tea bags and tea bags with a lid (fold to close and no need for hot iron). Didn't go with these two types, since (fine) power could escape from tea bags.
