Taobao for Yixing?
Has anyone tried using TaoBao for Yixing? I'm not expecting to find high quality/older pots, but has anybody had luck finding pots to good/decent quality clay?

i have tried a couple of times...
its a disappointment most of the time, as with some non-taobao sites as well

I guess taobao is sometimes good for medium quality pots (I would only buy from sellers after reading testimonial from other buyers). But online purchase is always risky for high quality ones, especially the "old" ones. The shipping cost is a headache too.
I bought a few pots from taobao. They and are at about $25-$60 range, and good for their price. But after the shipping cost was added on (the sellers I dealt with only use EMS), I felt I didn't really get a good deal
What's nice about taobao is a great variety to choose from. But it will be better if more sellers are willing to use air mail like what YSLLC and Jing's do.

Taobao is just equivalent to Ebay, some Yixing sellers at Maliandao and Ai Jia also co-run the websites while receveiving cash in a shop. Some are really decent while many seem none-dealable.
Goal is to find decent one, which is possible (I know some Korean Yixing/Puerh sellers who contact Taobao sellers), and some I helped a lot. The weak point is you can't know the quality by online pictures that you have to actually first buy it to know the quality, which I got lots of advantages cos I was there many times when their orders were arrived.
TIP: You can cut the price, too
