if one specific type of water stains more than others, does that mean its not as clean?
my tap water always stains.
Re: tea stains different water

Re: tea stains different water
There are a lot of variables going on here. Tea does stain.
And your teaware may have scale deposits on them causing
them to "grab" more residue. Limescale is a major culprit.
It could still be there on your teaware even though you are
now using more pure water.
Is "clean" or free from minerals something to worry about? Well are you comfortable with your water source's purification system? Not only are you
drinking it, you are absorbing it in your bath/shower too. They tell us
it has passed government standards, but it is up to you to decide if you are comfortable with that.

no, tea does not stain even if it does its good pure stain, that.. i dont mind at all, it's tea stain from bad water that im not too fond off. the gallon of water im speaking of was Ice mountain natural spring water, i wouldn't recommend anyone buying it, its pure crap, stains like mad probably worse than my tap water, not to mention it left loads of sand particles in my kettle in just few days.
brought another gallon of distill water and it does not stain one bit even left in the cup overnight!!!!!!

Re: tea stains different water
This is the reaction with some chemical elements in water.

(this one doesn't leave stains though)
Not harmful ones, just ones you can have in any water in different amounts. And some of them will react with chemicals in your tea and make it darker.
Waters for children leave more stains so i guess the chemicals are Ca, Na or F. Some may even change taste of tea.
If you put some cooking soda in to the glass of tea you will see it becoming darker very fast.
Sorry for my English.
