by Chip » Oct 30th, '09, 01:06

Happy TeaDay everyone. Welcome to our TeaRoom. Please stop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.

Yesterday we discussed current vendor lists. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. It is the end of another month again, almost ... so, what was your fave tea of the past month. Details please.

I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up ...

This question was easy. O-Cha's Kame-Jiru-Shi gyokuro was my tea-of-the-month. Next best was Hou de's Lao Cong Shui Xian from Zheng-Yen, and next after that was Hibiki-an's Kuradashi gyokuro pinnacle.

I have also had *loads* of mediocre teas this month because I am searching for reasonably priced Japanese greens.

Last tea of the day was a tasty White Peony from The Tea Gallery.

Hrm, I tried a number of new-to-me teas this month, but the most standout one is a black, the black pearls tea from adagio. Mostly it's a standout because of the shape, though I did enjoy the taste.

This morning, I'm trying out adagio's anji duet, which is an interesting green. . .

My fav this month has to be jingteashops seasonal da hong pao. All I've drank this month was green and oolong with 1 or two days of black, this seems to be my new tea trend and Im loving it!

I have been having morning sickness all day long for the last 5 weeks or so. I never thought I could have an aversion to tea, but it happened :(
The only thing I can stomach right now is a white ginger/peach tea that I have. And every now and then a fruity red tea.

The Tea of the Month for me was a discovered bag of Iron Goddess King Oolong from New Century Tea Gallery.

This morning another new adventure into the Lochan Tasting Samples - Margaret's Hope Muscatel 2nd Flush Darjeeling. Pretty good for a 2nd flush.
:)

Oh no! Hope you get past the morning sickness soon. It is always so annoying. It didn't last me too long when I was pregnant so I hope the same for you. Fortunately, I didn't have an aversion to tea either. For me it was Black Olives. Weird I know. In the meantime my favorite teas this month are...

1. Sweet Velvet Fog Blend - Still Addicted.
2. Dancong Aria - Came as a sample with an order I placed with Adagio and WOW!!! Love it.
3. Always my favorite - Gyokuro (Has been for years doubt it will change anytime soon.)

Well, it isn't my ``fav'' but it is one of my favs. This is a mouth-filling tea with notes of unsweetened cocoa in the nose. It is ``comfort tea''.

More fuka this morning.

Fave tea of the month is a bit of a surprise in that it was not a sencha for the first time in many moons. I went with Matcha Miyabi from Den's this month, though a few sencha-s were very close behind. Matcha Miyabi was a bit of a surprise, rather sweet and with a dried fruit aroma and taste. A hint of cocoa in the background.

Began the TD with a sencha though, Fukamushi Supreme from O-Cha which was excellent. This Fuka seems to favor a more English style brewing method, less leaf and longer steep. SweeTea slurped some while Wulong, Gandalf, and Pyrit sat and watched today.

I am about to finish my tea of the month, Ito En's Yame Gyokuro. I enjoyed the Uji as well. I am anxioulsy waiting the arrival of my first order of O-cha gyo. It needs to get her fast because I am almost out...!

This month I have spent nearly two weeks with a cold - and sticking to herbal teas.

But today despite a continued cough and head congestion, I think I feel well enough for a little "real" tea again. I haven't decided what it will be yet.

I think I have to say of all the teas I drank this month, number 1 was a Ying Di hongcha from Red Circle Tea. But a close second was my rediscovery of Singbulli Oolong from Cha Ma Gu Dao (ah that lovely combination of darjeeling brightness and oolong hints of Phonenix-like peach).

Cinni - Hopefully your aversions will pass soon! I had them too. Quite bizarre when it's something you know you love. My first child it was chicken and eggs and my second it was beef. I couldn't even be in the same room with those items they so repelled me. I did eventually get over it. Congrats!

My favorite tea this month is an organic Sencha. My DH had to run by the tea shop to pick up more for me. Oolongs would be second place.

This month Anji Duet, Dancong Aria and my old faithful senchas have kept me company. October is such a time of transition and the new teas are well-suited.

Hope Cinni feels better soon!
