Re: Saturday TeaDay 10/31/09 New November Tea?
I do not think so.
I didn't plan to buy a new tea this month. I however will taste some aged Taiwanese oolongs thanks to MarshalN
Karigane gyokuro this morning.

Yes, most definitely. I'm part of the Lochan Teas Facebook tasting, and we all have 11 teas Indian teas to try starting Monday. I'm looking forward to trying, even though second flush teas aren't my favorite. Still it should be fun and interesting.
Re: Saturday TeaDay 10/31/09 New November Tea?
Nope, not to my knowledge. Although, I still have a bunch of tea that I bought a couple months ago that I have yet to sample (pu'erh), so perhaps I am looking forward to that? Hrm, dilemmas.
No tea for me this morning, as I lept right into doing some errands. But I'm back now, and I think I'll finally get around to doing that taste comparison of rock tea oolongs. . . and then this afternoon, onto a couple of Halloween parties. The weather has gotten a little bump today and should get up to 80F! It's looking to be a great day.

No, I don't think so...at least not unless an "impulse buy" sneaks up on me. I've gott too much "back stock" already (particularly since I brought a bunch back with me from Japan at the end of August) and I want to make a dent in it while it is still relatively fresh.

I think I want to try a Signature Blend called Cotton Candy by Woodie Barnes. It just sounds so delicious and since I can't have the real thing I am hoping this is the next best thing. Otherwise, I want to Sugar and Spice Oh! So Nice, TRICK or TREAT 2009 and Treehouse of Horror XX which are my blends. Now other then just blends I think I want to pickup a sampler of Pu Erh Dante or Pu Erh Poe or maybe one of each haven't decided.
Re: Saturday TeaDay 10/31/09 New November Tea?
Yes, a November order is definitely in the cards. I put in a couple orders in July/August, one to O-cha the other to the Tea Gallery, and those stocks are already fairly depleted.
The problem is that, as someone who just started getting into quality in the last year and who is very curious and open to exploration, there are too many things I want to try. I don't which ones to go for first!
On the one hand I want to try some Pu-ehr, so I thought of making my November order from Nadacha. On the other hand, the Song Dynasty Dancong from the Tea Gallery really sparked my interest in trying more Dancongs, so I am really tempted to order from Tea Habitat. And I love the O-cha senchas I tried, and I am curious to try some asamuchi after so much fukamushi. Hojo also has a lot stuff that I would like to try.
Well, I can only order from one on my graduate student budget... this is torture, but a delicious form of it.

Re: Saturday TeaDay 10/31/09 New November Tea?
I have a lot of tea right now, and don't really intend to buy any more in the next month or so. BUT, if I were to make a purchase I would definitely want to sample some pu erh. I have made a list of vendors, thanks to yesterdays teapoll, from which I can search for a decent one. Aside from that, perhaps some more dangcong aria. Though I should really wait a couple more months before buying anything else...

I thought it was just sugar.

Started the day with Koucha from Yuuki-cha.
Ready for an oolong next.

I'm participating in the Lochan Facebook Tasting along with Victoria and several other TeaChatters, so those will be new teas to me.
Three Brothers in my cup this morning.

I might try matcha in early winter rather than waiting until springtime, which was my plan. So there might be matcha in my near future.
I brewed a sample of Fo Shu for breakfast, but the bag had been mislabeled and I wasn't in the mood AnXi this morning (too tired) so I brewed Yame Gyokuro from Tea Gallery instead. This tea is extravagant but delicious. Brewed with a 5:4 ratio of grams to oz at 140F this brew is delicate yet rich in umami and it does, as advertised, have a distinct taste of chestnuts -- it was more of water chestnuts for me. Doubling the leaf and lowering the temperature to 130F intensified the flavors and produced a brew with no imperfections at all. That says a lot for the quality of the leaf. But I think I enjoyed the delicate flavors and texture with the lower proportion of leaf.
Happy Halloween folks.
