Hrm, fortunately I went through my fridge about two weeks ago and got rid of everything old, but one of the things I pitched were some cranberries that I bought last November. Yes, 2008.

This morning, taking some anji duet for another tour. I sometimes wonder what I'm doing wrong when Adagio's site says their samples make 10 cups, and I get 2.... :D That statement always seems to be way off on anything fluffy due to the limited size of the container....

I quite regularly clean my fridge so nothing could stay in it long enough to become "scary"

Kaboku sencha this afternoon.

I keep my fridge pretty clean, so nothing more than the occasional spots on some cheese. Nothing very scary in there.

This morning, a last bit of Arya Darjeeling I found. Still pretty good, and the biggest shock is; it's from Upton.

I have been keeping up on the fridge so nothing of an consequence as of late. However, in the past evil creatures did linger. We'll just keep it at that.

My fridge has its scary moments... usually related to a cucumber in the produce drawer that got lost and forgotten. Ewwww I hate cleaning out mushy stuff. :(

Sencha karigane in my cup... woke up craving greeeeeeeeen.

Im pretty vigilant about keeping the fridge clean but my roommate is not. Just the other day I said to her "Hey this pesto you made in July is not looking so hot.." Sometimes I throw things away without telling her and she never notices. I think shes got like fridge tunnel vision or something.

nothing scary at the moment though the produce drawers do get scary at points. i usually clean the fridge every other week but once i forgot to clean out the veggie tray before going on vacation and when i got back there was mold and 'juice' everywhere.

Speaking of evil critters in the fridge. When Gandalf was a baby outdoor kitty, he developed a weird skin formation on his face. The best way to describe it was when the "metal man" on Terminator II would get shot. In the very center was a hole, and a little probe like thing was sticking out.

Turned out it was a veryyyy BIG bot fly larvae that had to be surgically removed. The vet gave it to us in a jar 4 years ago, and it still resides in the fridge.

This should win most scary thing in a fridge! If you think you can beat this, a free tea sample is a prize. I am the final judge.

Besides that, I am rather mold phobic, not in a health sense, it just gives me the heeby jeebies. Some members keep cultures in their fridges ... as much as I like yogurt and might one day like kombucha (sp?), I cannot bring myself to "grow" my own.

Chip, you win the grossest fridge item prize for sure!

It looks like the produce drawer of our refrigerators is the most likely spot for scary items - I have also had cucumbers, lemons, oranges, lettuce go bad in there.

Iced Red Rose today.

Yep, there have been some scary things in my fridge. When you can't figure out what something originally used to be, it's been in there too long! It is pretty good right now...although I'll bet you could find some not-quite-fresh pickles in there

Scary is what happens if you leave a bag of potatoes in the trunk of your car for a few days in the summertime...

Tea so far today..Yunnan Imperial from SpecialTeas...this is a great tea with breakfast!

Happy, happy,
Dreamer

I also usually keep my fridge pretty clean and up to date. The only sort of scary thing resides in my freezer, (does that count?). I made my cat a raw meat dish because I've been reading that it is the healthiest type of food for dogs and cats to eat. He doesn't love it though. I keep it frozen and offer him a little now and then.

The thought of raw meat in the freezer might not bother anybody else that much, but I've been a vegetarian for more than half of my life, so meat in the fridge is foreign to me...

Yeah, chip, I think you win. Just this week I threw out two partially chewed and freezer burned deer ribs from a year ago, but I don't think that counts because they were still frozen. Last night I threw out a box of bread crumbs from 1998. The funny thing about that is we bought this house in 2001, so that means I MOVED THEM FROM THE OLD PLACE, after they had already been out of date for 3 YEARS! hahahaha!!! OMG.

The only reason I got rid of them is because (due to numerous health issues,) my doc suggested I go gluten-free, pending some tests for Celiac's Disease. So I've been busy going through cupboards and throwing out or segregating all wheat-containing pantry items. The fridge is not so much of a problem, mainly just things that contain soy sauce. :(

I'm just glad my tea stocks remain "safe foods." Although this means that I can never try mugicha. Oh well, if I haven't tried it by now, it's clearly not a priority. Heh.

In my cup this afternoon Doke Silver Needle from the Lochan tasting. The debut is tomorrow, but I wanted a sneak peak brewed my way.

Well, I am thinking you win but here is my creepy story. A long time ago I made some Lemon Angel Hair Pasta a recipe I tried from Giada on Food Network. It turned out great but I made the recipe exactly and had some leftovers and decided I would put it in the freezer. Finally, I decided to thaw it out one day for dinner and I had the worst scare. There was a large moth in the pasta and it was perfectly preserved. It must have gotten in there some how I have NO idea how it could have been even possible. It was enormous. At this point I didn't even discover it until after I microwaved it. I cut into the pasta and there it was. I took pictures too just so my husband could see it as it went down the garbage disposal. I was scared to get into leftovers ever since. Just writing about this is creeping me out. Well, I hope it was worth digging up this repressed memory. :)
