Greetings TeaAficionados! Please do drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed quantities of teas versus cups, etc. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. You get distracted and your tea sits and cools to room temp. Do you still enjoy it, or chuck it and go brew? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this TD with everyone. Bottoms up.

It very rarely happens that I let my tea cool down due to distraction. In that case, I drink it.

If during the first 5 infusions of a session, I will drink it
if later than 5 I take it as a signal to move on!

It depends on how cool it gets, I hate to even say it but if its too cooled I pour it down the drain along with some tears
but then I get to brew some more so its all good.

If it is a tea I enjoy, I will drink it hot or cooled... I will drink it the next morning if it's still in my cup from the night before. I enjoy it most when it's freshly brewed and cooled for maybe 10 minutes, still steaming but not too hot. If tea is too hot, I think the flavors can be muted.
In my cup this morning is Lochan's Meghma Oolong for day #2 of the tasting. So far, it's nice... very earthy, and rustic, not very roasty, and not exactly oolong-like. It reminds me of something else I've had, but I can't place what it is...

Yeah, I definitely still drink and enjoy it. I tend to like my tea a little cooler anyway, so sometimes it does cool too much. If there is a big cup I have neglected for some reason, I've been known to slip an ice cube or two in there.

Cooling often reveals nuances that can be harder to discern at warmer temps. Usually, I'll finish the cup no matter the temp. Yums!
Have a good TeaDay everyone!

+1 CynTEAa, I always finish off my teas and like Victoria, I tend to like mine a bit cooler, so an ice cube makes a nice addition to cool tea.CynTEAa wrote:Cooling often reveals nuances that can be harder to discern at warmer temps.

I will definitely drink it with only slightly diminished enjoyment. Ideally, I like my tea hot - just below the burn your mouth temperature.
I lovely Chiran Sencha from Chado Teahouse in my cup this morning.

I'll drink it at whatever temperature, doesn't matter to me!

What I do depends on "situational context". Most of the time... I drink it.

If I like the tea, I'll drink it. If I don't like the tea, I wouldn't have made it in the first place (unless I'm trying it for the first time of course). So I'll always drink my cooled down tea, and enjoy it.

Something in me can't let it go. I'd feel like I'd wasted it, so I drink it. Most times it's still pretty tasty.
It's even a bit hard for me to throw out totally spent leaves lol. Something about it feels wrong. I wish there was some use for them.
This morning - Green Ginger. Not normally a fan of ginger, even when having sushi, but in this instance, it's tasty!

I definitely still enjoy it, within a certain time frame. This actually happens to me way to often. No tea yet, thinking about some matcha.
