Saturday FreeDay 11/07/09

by Chip » Nov 7th, '09, 02:12

Good TeaDay everyone. I hope you will drop in throughout the day and share what is in your cup.

Yesterday we discussed the weather cooling off and tea choices changing with the weather. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.

Today is a FreeDay TeaDay, open mic if you will. So, stop in and share what is in your cup and we will let the discussion take its natural course. So, please jump in.

I am looking forward to sharing this FreeDay TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

For a rarity, I've already set out the tea I'm going to be enjoying tomorrow. A darjeeling sample. (I'm a tiny bit out of order on the Lochan series of samples.) Yum, can't wait! In my cup tonight: a single malt scotch in one of my lovely guinomi from Cory. I know, it's supposed to be sake, but I'm more of Speyside girl. :)

In other news, (since this is "free day,") I got my new camera! Poppets are still investigating.

something is different around here...

I will sure have some Japanese teas today. In fact I already had Otsuusan sencha this morning and I will have some koicha this afternoon as it is the case quite every Saturday. A Chinese black (or a Taiwanese oolong if the samples kindly sent by MarshalN arrive this morning) should complete the menu.

Hello all. Hopefully everything has been well in the world of tea. I've been focused on cutlery lately and haven't been around much. Tonight in my cup I've gone the same rout as Geekgirl and am currently relaxing with a glass of Highland Park.

Chinese, specifically SN. Must compensate for the dark weather somehow, and SN usually does the trick.

Cool :) May I ask what kind of camera you got?

A Chinese tea today. In fact, hopefully multiple Chinese teas. Right now I'm enjoying 7 Cups' Rou Gui. I tried this one in a tasting comparison last week (with 6 other rock teas) and it got sort of swamped out by the others. It's nice to enjoy this one in isolation now and pay attention just to it.

Is that a porcelain brain with antlers??

Structured rebellion?

Thanks for the "fun" photo :D

Began the chilly TD with Japanese Kabuse from O-Cha. SweeTea of course wanted a fair share while Fuji and Pyrit were just hanging with the humans today.

I am likely to continue in the Japanese direction.

I haven't a clue what I'll be having today, certainly both Chinese and Japanese teas. Maybe I'll drink lots of small brews? Hmmm? I'll check back with you.

No tea yet today. I'm just enjoying having nothing to do.

Starting out with Puttabong FF Darjeeling... who knows where the day will take me? I answered Indian because I know I will have more Darjeeling before the day is out.

I'm off to help a man with a home improvement project. That just seems so fundamentally backwards to me. But yes, I do know how to use a drill.

Happy Tea Day to all.

Oooohhhh and it's my 1000th post today. Woohoo!

Sarah - Congrats on the 1000th post! How fun.

Geekgirl - Fun picture, thanks for sharing.

I had the Black Dragon Pearls this morning and right now some organic Sencha. I'm almost out of the BDP so I'm thinking I need to order some more. I'm really surprised I enjoy a black tea such as this. I think that's why you always try something new because you never know if you'll find a new favorite.

Yummy! Cragganmore for me. I've never tried Highland Park, should add it to the list.

I got the new Canon 7D. The only fly in the ointment is that Lightroom doesn't yet support the sRAW format, so I have to go the full 18mp/25mb files, and I just can't go back to shooting in .jpg, so I will soon have a HD space issue. Problems, problems...

Actually, those are his hands. And yes, it is a brain. Mr Byrd Brain, to be precise. :D

Ha! Usually, but not this week. My husband had the flu this week, so between that, and work, and the new camera, and another sample I wanted to dive into first... well, you know how it can be.

They say "Thank you," and "We are."

My kind of woman. :!:

Lochan Korakundha FOP for me this morning.

Taiwanese will be the highlight of the day, as is usually.

But in my cup this morning is ToT Neela. Which I reordered in the Tin this time. And which ... is the original stuff. Yay, for that at least. I'll check in on the Black Tea forum later if I have time today. Busy day ahead with shopping and an event this evening.

Trioxin - Nice to see you!! I know you are drinking tea as you stock your kitchen!

Sarah - Congrats! Yay!

Geek - Congrats as well!

Congrats on the 1000 posts Sarah!

I'm having a nice lazy day today. Two Darjeeling's so far so I guess it's an Indian tea day.
