It's a pitty they don't use surface mail. Sometimes the shipping costs are higher than the cost of the teas.

than you're clearly not buying enough tea than

I know that there are other agents besides Tao Bao Now...does anyone know any other agents with lower shipping rates? I'm only sticking with Tao Bao Now since it seems that Hobbes has much luck with it and I'm reluctant to throw down for some unknown

Here is another one out of Shanghai. I know nothing about them except that they charge a higher fee....but might allow other forms of shipping.

I was dreaming about this earlier. Then I found alibaba (owner of taobao) does open an online store system "aliexpress"
http://www.aliexpress.com/

Maybe I was the last one to know this :P

Anyone has experience or idea with aliexpress? Is it entirely free of charge for selling or reasonable charge on currency exchange for online shopping?

Like an earlier poster stated, everyone should be very wary of Taobao. It is absolutely crawling with fakes. I guess most of the young pu-erh is trust worthy but be careful when buying older ones. I am currently living in China so shopping with Taobao is easy but, i have a shelf full of tea that i ordered that is fake. When i did contact the sellers, mostly they admit that it is not good tea and they sent me a replacement. However some sellers even sent me fakes again but some sent the real deal. I do not buy tea through Taobao anymore. It really does test your knowledge of tea!! :D

Fun fact. Taobao means potato
