Good TeaDay everyone! I hope you will drop in and share what is in your cup throughout the day.
Yesterday we discussed coworker attitudes towards our tea drinking. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Are animals and/or creatures depicted on your teaware? How many different animals/creatures? What animals and/or creatures are depicted on your teaware? Please share with us.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Monday TeaDay 11/16/09 Lions, tigers, and bears ... ?
I was going to say none, but then I realized that the dragons count as do the birds, and then I started thinking about all my tea mugs with wolves, moose and grizzly bears. So, I really don't know how many I have, but quite a few

Re: Monday TeaDay 11/16/09 Lions, tigers, and bears ... ?
I have only two animals on all of my teaware. I have cranes on the two first cups that I bought from Teavana, and I have a harlequin duck(!) on a porcelain mug which I use for morning yancha.
Last tea of the day was Ippoen gyokuro. I brewed it using a fairly low ratio of leaf to water (5:4) and it was delicious, delicate flavor, big in umami.

Only a couple of cups with birds, but they're not in my everyday usage... I'm crossing a no frills phase, like... maybe I'll have more teaware pets in the future.
Bai Lin Jin Zhen this morning.

No animals on my teaware; although I love the cups with the goldfish swimming around. Just opened the kame-jiru-shi and am really enjoying it. I have plans this afternoon to do a kame/tsuru taste test. Fun!

Do plants count as animals? I usually go for white teaware...

Just that one yixing that is really my husband's that has that irritating little squirrel on it.
I am not opposed to fauna on my teaware, I just seem not to have any. I could go for some koi or a dragon or 1000 cranes

I don't like animals on my teaware. I have flowers on one set of cups. Otherwise nothing living. Not on purpose. I just always pick neutral ones I guess. I like things simple.
Now that my morning sickness is finally gone I'm going crazy with tea. I'm drinking a different one every couple of hours.

I'm not a fan of animal designs on my teaware...I do however have a tea storage jar that has a picture of bamboo on it.
No time for tea this morning

My teaware is creature-free.

Some of our teaware displays awesome dragons to cranes, but I think ... for the moment anyway ... little fishys swimming in the cup are my fave.clareandromeda wrote:... although I love the cups with the goldfish swimming around.
Little minnows, or feeder type fish that look alive as I peer through the light green color to the murky 2nd steep of fukamushi!
Black Dragon Pearls from Adagio, currently in my cup ... no fish are visible!

I was going to say 'none,' but then I realized that my gaiwan has a dragon on it.
Happy to have some Huang Jin Bolero in my cup this afternoon.

Five that I can think of; fish, dragons, pheasants, butterflies and bats.

No animals on today's teaware. But I have a beautiful goldfish on one gaiwan, butterflies and flowers on pitchers and other gaiwans and teabowls... and I can't remember what else!
Today I'm drinking a med. roast TieGuanYin from Cha Ma Gu Dao. It's quite buttery and lovely and a welcome oolong flavor in the midst of all the hongcha (Western parlance: black teas) I've been drinking...
Hope everyone is well this Monday
