Greetings everyone and welcome to TeaDay. Please drop in and sit a spell ... tell us what is in your cup.
Yesterday we discussed how old we felt ... off the TeaTopic. You can still vote and discuss yesterday's topic.
Today's TeaPoll and discussion topic. Last November Drax says, "Okay okay, I admit I enjoy word play. Given all the discussion on TeaSnobbery, how about a question/poll on TeaSlobbery? This would be about either how messy/neat you are during the tea-making process, or how messy/neat you are with storing tea-related supplies."
Taking it a step further, TeaSlobbbery and TeaKlutzery. Are you a slob, a klutz, or quite the opposite? Please share.
I am looking forward to sharing this TeaDay with everyone. Bottoms up.

Re: Thursday TeaDay 11/19/09 TeaSlobs unite?
My tea samples at this time are in a bit of disarray and in need of additional storage space. Therefore, I ashamedly admit to being a TeaSlob. Hoping to reform myself soon. A recent visit to the Container Store should help!
TeaKlutz? Yup, that happens, too, when in desperate need of a soothing cup and not taking time to chill out as I brew.... ah, well. My confession of the day!
Yunnan Gold to awaken my senses and now perhaps a sencha so sooth my soul. Happy TeaDay everyone!!

TeaSlob here. My tea storage is WAY less organized or "formal" than it likely should be.

Pretty much all or nothing here as far as TeaStoring supplies, etc. Either over organized or chaos reigns, not much middle ground.
As I brew, I am a neat slob I guess. Lots little spills, but always a towel at hand ... and after brewing and enjoying, the teawares are generally cleaned up instantly.
Began the TD with a tasting of Zencha Fuji Super Premium ... which it is. Very delicious, and smooth, but not so much as too feel too soft either. Classy fukamushi. SweeTea enjoyed while Wulong, Ceylon, and Pyrit observed the festiviTeas.

No slob or klutz here...
I prefer to handle small amounts of samples and moderate stock of everyday teas at once... so it's quite easy to keep my tea dresser neat.
then I never have my cup if I'm in a hurry...
Bai Hao Yin Zhen this afternoon.
see you

+1. My neatness is limited to very few areas. Tea brewing is not one of them.JBaymore wrote:TeaSlob here. My tea storage is WAY less organized or "formal" than it likely should be.

I am not a TeaSlob or a TeaKlutz. Anything that may have looked like slobiness, is only due to lack of storage room at the time. And that will drive me crazy till I find space to put it away. I am one of those "a place for everything, and everything in its place" people. I like to have things laid out the night before, for morning tea. I am not a klutz, I try to be extra careful (*knocks on wood*).
In this morning's cup, some delicious FF Balasum Estate Darjeeling. One of the best teas I have had from Special Teas. Simply wonderful.
Have a nice day everyone!

Though my tea cabinet might look messy, it's organized as best I can given the available space (and container shapes!) and I know where everything is. I clean up any spills as they happen. And, with the exception of one teapot lid that lost a battle with the floor after burning my fingers, I've never broken any teaware. So now, of course, I'll break a bunch of things.
In my cup: water. A bit too lazy to get up and go make tea at the moment.

I went with: I am NOT a TeaSlob or TeaKlutz.
Even when going Gong Fu, I still try to minimalize spillage, and I clean up right away.
Tea is never left overnight, though sometimes I'll keep some leaves I'm not quite finished with in the gaiwan or teapot I was using, for the next day.
This morning, Black Dragon Pearls.
Definitely more pu erh and black since it's gotten colder.
Though I am a fan of this green ginger tea I've been drinking lately. Funny really, since normally I'm not so big on ginger.

Neither a klutz nor a slob, my teas are stored neatly. I've managed to curb my acquisitiveness to just a dozen teas on hand at any one time through space constraints. Teaware is stored or displayed in an orderly fashion and my tea making area is kept clean.
No-name Wuyi in my cup. Nice on a sombre Fall day.

First tea in 10 days. Between travel and catch-up I haven't had time to sit down, and have been guzzling coffee. My tummy is NOT happy~

Oh yes, teaslob. I try not to be so, and have nice shelves for display, but tend to use things and then jumble them up in the cupboard until it becomes a problem, then clean it all up and start over. Heh.

I think I was, am, and will always be a TeaSlob. I try, but obviously not hard enough
haha
I've been fortunately to not be a TeaKlutz. Over one year of good tea drinking, and I have yet to break anything. I did have one Bodum glass lose its vacuum, but I think that was a manufacturer problem.
Having some Bai Ji Guan, the last of a rock oolong sampler that I picked up from Seven Cups. They claim this is one of the rarer types of tea. It has a very distinctive aroma a taste. It hangs on the savory side, and I really enjoy it.

My tea cabinet is a mess, and I spill things often. I guess that makes me both a klutz and a slob!
